Re: Problem with recoeding elecreic guitar. Please help!
After searching the internet on how to record an electric guitar with audacity for hours I became desperate. There are plenty of tutorials on where to put you microphone in relation with the amp. But i don't have a microphone! I want to record sound by jacking my guitar into my BOSS GT8 Guitar Mult...

Re: Export creates 0 KB file
I'm trying to import PCM RAW ringtones and export them as .M4R (same as M4A). I import the raw file as 8000, mono, little endian (or no endian). The file plays in Audactity. So no problems there. I chose the export menu item and have tried both the default M4A for mat and also renaming the extensio...

Re: Problem to recording with external audio device
Try http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Troub ... ings#drift .
Probably the first thing to do is make sure you are using SoundBlaster for the Audacity playback device (Edit > Preferences: Audio I/O), not the inbuilt sound device.

Re: Audacity tries playback to wrong device while recording
My point too is not that FreeBSD is a "toy" OS, but that it is a fringe OS that hardware manufacturers may not have taken into account when writing drivers. I've read the whole log for http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29. FWIW, I don't think that bug applies. I have none of...

Re: New/improved plug-ins for potential inclusion in Audacit
I guess that we could eventually end up lots of different vocoder effects. I still would like to have a "unified" vocoder effect, but I'm afraid that this is again a lot of work. Thanks, Edgar for the explications. The fundamental problem remains IMO that many can't use the current vocode...

Re: Just needing a confirmation .. ? (micro recording)
If I intend to use a computer only with an external (or additional internal) sound card and never use the on-board sound card, I disable the on-board sound card in BIOS. This prevents the on board sound card from appearing as an option for all programs, and most programs will then automatically sel...

Re: Audacity tries playback to wrong device while recording
Does anyone else on Linux have this issue when recording from a USB device? Even if the inbuilt sound device wasn't full duplex (can't play and record simultaneously), it shouldn't stop you recording on the USB device and playing to the inbuilt device. Does this USB gizmo support OS'es other than Wi...

Re: HELP - set up to RECORD streaming on Audacity Beta probl
Yes, you're right Gale, does are downloaders. But in this case isn't the end result pretty much the same? mpeg streamclip gives the option to save to different formats. I'm not sure about the others... When you use a "download YouTube videos" tool there are usually options to save in diff...
