Re: exporting wav to ulaw
I have tried the new beta 1.3.13 and a file exported as uLaw properly works in my telephony application. (I started this thread as jlr; lost my login info). The only other thing I could suggest is that when a file is opened, to be able to tell if it already is uLaw. Thanks for letting us know. We'l...

Re: Multitrack recording with ZOOM R16
We can't read German here except with Google translate, which doesn't really help much in this case. The R16 product page makes no mention of locked pairs of files. I understand you import a violin recording made with H2 into Audacity. Is the harpsichord track you also import into Audacity a MIDI fi...

Re: Can't Install Audacity 1.3.13
Well, unfortunately I'm getting the same issue as before when trying to run the program. I have to keep re-installing it whenever I want to use it after closing it. What I mean is, once I install the program, I can open and use it. When I'm done and quit the application, if I want to reopen it agai...

Re: Exporting Multiple from Label Track
I was actually thinking of something like this, which would be part of a label text: <play=(-2,!-1,+1)> ... With a suitable syntax variation, optional parameters could be added to each track in the enumeration to deal with this. For example, use ';' instead of ',' above and delimit the optional par...

Re: Exporting Multiple from Label Track
I think the alternatives considered in the enhancement issue which involve using multiple label tracks for exporting different combinations of audio tracks based on vertical position of the label track would be confusing and would not intuitively support arbitrary combinations of audio tracks. In m...

Re: Exporting multiple label tracks
I'd like to have a way to specify which label track to use for "Export Multiple" so I don't have to drag the label tracks around. Note there is already a bugzilla enhancement issue for this that suggests exporting all label tracks but allowing to "mute" the ones not required for...

Re: Delay typing into a label or dragging tracks vertically
Thanks for all the input. Peter was one of the first to report it to me, and I've been gathering evidence. it seems pretty much replicable on Windows on anything but a blazing fast machine. Mac shows it slightly and Linux less again. My slow Linux netbook shows it fairly clearly on a one hour track ...

Re: Audacity tries playback to wrong device while recording
FreeBSD uses OSS, not alsa. Well that's another "fringe" element then. OSS isn't exactly unsupported in 1.3 but it's quite rare now. I wasn't aware that generally, Audacity software playthrough did not work with external devices under OSS, but if you want me to put you in touch with a use...

Re: Multitrack recording with ZOOM R16
I plan to buy a ZOOM R16 multitrack recorder. It creates a couple of synchronized wav tracks. When opening each of these tracks in audacity: is synchronisation of these couple of tracks kept? How is it done? Is it possible to open all the wav tracks in the couple at once? If you read "Get in S...
