Re: Audacity exports empty wav/mp3/etc
I've documented this at bug 414 . Same problem here with an recording I made with Audacity 1.3.13-beta Mac. After changing dither from Shaped to Triangle export was working. Thanks. Thanks. If you are able to isolate the problem section of audio, trim it so that only that audio remains, save it as a...

Re: Audacity crash when loading MP3
@Gale: Tried, located the necessary libraries, didn't help. Please be specific. Do you mean Audacity does not detect any FFmpeg libraries, or that you can use FFmpeg to import MP3 and it still crashes? If so, are you sure you are using File > Import > Audio and selecting the "FFmpeg-compatible...

Re: Recording delay issues
So I just downloaded audacity and I'm trying to record through my snowball usb input mic. I have everything working, but when I try to record anything, the sound is delayed through my headphones. Makes it very difficult to record. Anyone have a fix for this? Assuming you mean you have enabled Softw...

Re: Export overwrite WAV
To put some detail on Koz's figures, with 2 GB of disk space - if you import a 15 minute WAV at Audacity's default 32-bit float quality and do just five edits on the whole track, then you only have 200 MB left. So if you can't clean up temporary files or otherwise prune disk space, consider clicking...

Re: Quality and volume degrade after a few seconds of record
Thanks for getting back so quickly. I did as you said, but there were no active enhancements. I also tried reducing the input level, since I thought that maybe the program was compensating for the level being too high, but that did not work either. Any other suggestions? What version of Windows? If...

Re: Locating Current Version of Audacity
Is there a x64 version of Audacity that is not beta? I'm sorry, I just don't know how long Audacity 1.3.13 has been around. It may have all the kinks worked out already and I'm being a little foolish here. There is no explicitly 64-bit version of Audacity. It is a 32-bit application but will work o...

Re: Frustration with Aud 1.3
I found a "manual" of sorts included with the download I did, but it didn't address the questions I asked. It would if you used it more inventively by browsing the contents (or searching if you used the online version). So if you have questions about a particular part of the interface lik...

Re: Error message.
I Export to "iTunes Music". And yes, I can export a single file to that location. Sometimes Audacity 1.2 just got tangled when you hit that error. I would suggest (if you have not already) File > Save Project (which will save your labels) then exit Audacity and re-open the project from Fi...

Re: Export overwrite WAV
The Bug described in 1.3.7 as: # Export as WAV could be corrupted if overwriting to same file seems not to be solved. I just edited some wav files - then exported it again with the same name - overwriting the existing file. Now my interviews mainly consist on short bits of the same words over and o...

Re: Can't Click Anywhere Except Plug-In Window, but I need t
I'm using a VST plug-in. To use one of the features of the plug-in, I need to be able to click on the main play button while the plug-in window is still open. But with Audacity, I can't click anything else while the plug-in window is open. Is there any way to change this? No. Audacity doesn't yet s...
