Re: Recording Problem
followed the link, installed Audacity 1.3 BETA (unicode) like you said, ran the program, hit the record button and the only thing that got recorded is an automated females voice saying "trial" if we say we do not have a voice watermark, we mean it. Go to the Windows Control Panel and unin...

Selecting non-standard project rate
A user told me on OS X 10.5.8 PPC that if you type a rate not in the list, for example 50000 Hz, then click the arrow that exposes the list of preset rates, the rate you typed is removed from the box so you have to type it again. Can anyone confirm that? Doesn't happen on Windows or Linux, but in an...

Re: Remove Q setting from high-pass / low-pass filters
I have a marginal preferences for "roll-off". Is there any precedent elsewhere in Audacity? Not in Audacity itself. All the references in the Manual say "rolloff" but that is the author's preference. Number<space>dB is I believe correct as now. I see that's the case in the manua...

Re: Trying to record playback from DVD/Windows 7
I'm trying to sample music from a review collection of various television shows and their intro music. Though it's rare (VERY rare) that I use the 'record whatever is currently playing' option, it's NEVER that I have used Audacity with Windows 7. This would be my first occasion, and I've tried to f...

Re: Remove Q setting from high-pass / low-pass filters
Usage of the verb would usually be "roll off" but as a noun I tend to think "rolloff" is more common. Wikipedia has "roll-off" as the noun and verb. 78 EQ Generator has "rolloff". I would have a weak preference to let sleeping dogs lie. Number<space>dB is I be...

Re: Narration issues and finding mp3 file
I am a teacher at our church and proficient in use of PP creation. Now I want to add audio clips to the various slides and I understand the process, but saving and finding the exported mp3 is giving me problem. Have you installed LAME for MP3 encoding, following these instructions: http://audacityt...

Re: Problem with configuration Solved
Glad it was solved. Can you say what solved the problem? Rebooting? Reconnecting the microphone and restarting Audacity? It might help someone else.olderthendirt wrote:I want to thank you for your reply and I did resolve the issue using 1.2.

Re: Audacity hangs when loading MP3
It does seem the CPU use problem is not just on idle, according to your recent comments. But please answer about how you managed to import a MIDI file into 1.3.12.7? Was there anything different about that session? Some other program or process not running? Or does it depend how quickly you can comp...

Re: Logitech headset not recognized by Audacity
1.2 Audacity hardly ever does I've never had troubles with Audacity 1.2 that weren't traceable back to the mono/stereo thing. The Logitech devices almost all show up as mono and if you don't catch that, Audacity will fail to figure it out. Sometimes Audacity 1.3 does that, too. I've seen dozens of ...
