Re: No recorded location

Thank you for your reply. I have tried to export, by using the "file" denomination, then clicking on export, for both wav, and mp3. Both ask me to where I wish to export the passage of music. I nominated a location, similar to My Music, and in the case of wav, when I tried to play it back...

Re: Remove Q setting from high-pass / low-pass filters

All the references in the Manual say "rolloff" but that is the author's preference. That appears to be a recent change. Up until March 20th this page used the hyphenated version http://manual.audacityteam.org/m/index.php?title=Sample_workflow_for_LP_digitization&oldid=9364 I've tried ...

Re: Blue screen of death on XP every time

To both of you - and I've said this many times - Audacity can not cause BSOD, only crashes in Audacity. Applications like Audacity just do not have direct access to the kernel . Drivers, other kernel-level software and hardware problems are the cause of crashes. VST effect plug-ins can crash Audacit...

Re: Import raw file with multiple wave headers

I got just ugly sound (suspect bit shift) for some of the wav files, when other sounds fine. If someone has concatenated WAV files that have different bit depths or sample rates then you could possibly Import Raw several times, adjusting the "Import Raw Data" settings each time to match e...

Re: Audacity hangs when loading MP3

I was asking exactly what I wrote: how did you manage to import a MIDI file into 1.3.12.7? Was there anything different about that session? Some other program or process not running? Or does it depend how quickly you can complete an action before Audacity freezes completely? Do you have 1 minute bef...

Re: Narration issues and finding mp3 file

Gale guess I should have been more specific. I am configured, am able to create narration, export to mp3 but cannot find file. Are you getting an error when exporting the file, like you would if you used "" or other illegal characters in the file name? To find out the folder you exported ...

Re: Alesis Multimix 8 USB and Windows 7?

I am inerested in buying an Alesis Multimix 8 USB. I need a mixing console as well so this would be a good fit. My computer is windows 7. Does anyone have any experience with this mixer and Windows 7? Does it work? If you mean "will Audacity as shipped record multiple channels from it?" t...

Re: Import raw file with multiple wave headers

The first RIFF header is still dictating the length of the file, so if you use File > Import > Audio the headers will be read and the file will only be deemed to be the length stated in the first header. Use File > Import > Raw Data then the headers will be ignored for determining the file informati...
