Re: When does 1.3 beta go into stable release?

...just moments ago a Developer posted a bug reproducing Audacity Project to the Bugzilla--this is really exciting as it could lead to fix! Unfortunately the broken project that was produced was apparently due to the steps used in the test, so we haven't reproduced the issue, which is this one in t...

Re: Blue screen of death on XP every time

It's generally possible to avoid the worst Audacity/virus checker interactions by configuring the anti-virus not to scan the Audacity temporary folder where the recordings will be written (see Edit > Preferences: Directories for the location of the temporary folder) . That at least lets you keep the...

Re: 1.3XBeta - Plot Spectrum - Minimize Button Non Functiona

I just wish it could be moved about or delegated as it could be in 1.2X That's the audacity I was used to. It can be moved with the mouse. But obviously you want it as a separate window as it was in 1.2.6, which has pros and cons. Of course there were complaints about how it was in 1.2.6, which is ...

Re: Problem installing audacity on ubuntu 10.04

Without suggesting this is necessarily the problem, if you installed Ubuntu from a downloaded CD image, it is probably a good idea to check the hash. You only need one or two corrupted library files to create all sorts of problems when you come to install extra programs

Re: Audacity hangs when loading MP3

imported a file previously exported from Audacity Win version 1.2.6 into UNIX 1.3.12-7, still the same. And this was a file 10 seconds long, dragged in within a few seconds of Audacity launching, correct? Unless I missed it, you never answered as to how long your MP3s are, or gave us an example MP3...

Re: Applying Chains

When applying chains there is a file format of "List of files in basic text format". I have hundreds of sound file I am trying to apply the MP3 chain to, and they are in hundreds of folders. I would like to use this file, but when I the format there is only folders listed. I have tried .t...

Re: 1.3XBeta - Plot Spectrum - Minimize Button Non Functiona

You can't minimise it because it's been designed as a "modeless" window that stays on top as part of the main project window. We can add your vote that it should be a separate window (you would then have to task switch between it and the main window, and whenever you clicked in the main wi...

Re: Problem installing audacity on ubuntu 10.04

To be frank, packaging problems are Ubuntu's responsibility, not ours. We only provide source code. You can review the dependencies tree for the 1.3.12-2 package at http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/audacity (follow the links if necessary). If packages are not installable it probably suggests that li...

Re: Uneven recording levels

I'm using version 1.2.6 along with an NAD PP 3i and a Thorens TT. The left channel is very slightly lower than the right. Barely noticeable, but it is. Remove any loud clicks with Effect > Click Removal or other means, then use Effect > Normalize which will make the peak loudness of both stereo cha...

Re: downloading music from iTunes

I just got this iMac 3 days ago and was told to get audacity so I could do some audio mixing/looping, etc. There are no instructions! When I add a tune from my iTunes library, I do get the wave forms on the screen, but when I hit play, nothing happens. When I hit the record button, it basically shu...
