Re: Playback Echo 2.0.0 Windows 7

Do yourself a favour and obtain the current Audacity 2.1.2 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/ . From your description you can't salvage the bad recordings. With what mic or device were you making the recordings? Perhaps your computer was overtasked when you made the recordings. See Managing ...

Re: How to troubleshoot recording when upgrading Windows 10

This post was in response to a now banned user who was posting questions copied from other users See here for help with WASAPI errors: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.1.2#wasapi . Make sure in Windows Sound that "Listen to this device" is not enabled for Stereo Mix. If y...

Re: Tranferring voice mails

Are you getting tall blue waves when recording? If so and you want to hear while recording, enable Transport > Software Playthrough. If recording is a flat line, choose the correct external mic as recording device in Audacity's Device Toolbar . There are usually ways to transfer your voicemails from...

Re: Low-pass-filtered sound when recording stereomix

Turn off sound effects in your sound card (probably in the sound card's control panel). Make sure you really are selecting stereo mix by name as the Audacity recording device, not Sound Mapper - Input or Primary Sound Capture Driver. Those are whatever the default Windows recording device is at the ...

Re: low volume, only names appear - no content

- save Audacity audio file while naming it (shouldn't matter whether I save it as an audio file, because this is all Audacity) - close by clicking top left 'X' on audio file - File-> recent file - see file name - 'error opening project' [file name] "is already open in another window" As I...

Re: Clicking at track start shouldn't scale vertically

Rather than just transfer this to the Wiki>Pending_Feature_Requests page wher it aill lie dormant - is it worth writing a short Proposal or raise an enh entry in Bugzilla for this especillay given that it has overwhelming/unanimous support from QA ? Yes, I think it's worth it. It's a "usabilit...

Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea

I think it would help if Ed would provide his patch with the GUI options removed, so that it is a hidden option that can be enabled in audacity.cfg. I know that is not what some of us want, but we have to start somewhere by creating a Bugzilla enhancement issue out of this, and a demo patch that som...

Re: Only recording 2 microphones?!

I have a l/mono and r output on my keyboard. I supposed that it is on line level. What if I connect this cable from my keyboard to my computer: http://www.ebay.com/itm/6ft-3-5mm-1-8-TRS-stereo-to-2-mono-1-4-6-3mm-Y-splitter-patch-cable-cord-/172064565782 Can I record audio if I do this? Re: File Exists -- confirm option defaults to YES

+1 for making "No" the default as the Original-Poster suggests - it is the "safer" option 8-) It's hard to see that a user option for Yes or No by default would be justified for an action that should be consistent in Audacity wherever it occurs. I expect the choice defaults to Y...
