So I have a laptop it was windows vista but I now have windows 7 on it. My problem is that I cant record my vocals and hear my beat at the same. I know for a fact that all my equipment works, I think its a sound card issue? So I go on audacity, I can import my beat listen to it just fine. I can rec...

Re: File won't open
OK - I have read all of these posts and I believe that I am in compliance. However the files still won't open. Any other ideas? I did download the newest version - did I do something wrong there? I record and saved as... just as it gave it to me. The files are here on the desktop but will not open ...

Re: Lame 3.98.4 Incompatible with Audacity 1.3.8?
This seems to be the reason for the minor update to LAME http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=21115 Thanks for the information - the opensource archive link cited in that thread is dead now, but strangely, the LAME changelog does not specifically show the bug fix: http://lame.cvs.sourceforg...

Re: 1.3.13 crashes when opening .caf file
iTunes doesn't support CAF on Windows even if it contains AAC. I assume it doesn't contain AIFF, or Audacity would probably be able to import it. I suggest you install FFmpeg and try importing the CAF file into Audacity again. Before import, click Edit > Preferences: Extended Import and check "...

Re: Dropouts recording into laptop input
I looked again -- I am already in Audacity 1.3.13 Beta, and I am still having problems with skips in recording... I also tried to have it use RAM (for slow running drivers) and it did not help. What amount of laptop RAM should I have for this Toshiba C655D ? Are you using a USB hub? If so, don't. U...

I posted a reply to billw58, and kozikowski on 4th July, but it doesn't appear to have been registered on the forum page. I would suggest you read Bill's reply by clicking the link below: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=58306&start=10#p148044 Then answer the questions we ...

Re: Can't export to anything
I want to export my audacity file as an MP3 and I followed all the instructions (downloaded LAME, etc). When I try to export it says, "Unable to open target file for writing". Are you using File > Export Multiple? If so don't use "/" in the label or track names. What three-digit...

Re: saving mp3 files after normalise
Please make sure you are using the current 1.3.13 Beta (see Help > About Audacity to see the version you have now). MP3 is lossy - small differences in volume may be evident in the exported file compared to the track in Audacity. We don't make any special adjustments to allow for this. If you seeing...
