Re: Missing Data on .aup and exported .mp3

If you don't want to start a new recorded track, either use the blue Pause button instead of Stop, or in Audacity Beta, restart the recording with Append-Record (SHIFT-click over the Record button or use SHIFT + R). If you use File > Export with multiple tracks open, it will mix the tracks together ...

Re: I need help! Vocals from Audacity into Reason 4.0

Is the WAV you exported just your vocal track or a mix of your vocals and the background? Have you listened to that WAV in Audacity and does it do the same there? I take it you are exporting as WAV 16-bit PCM? At what sample rate? See "Project Rate" bottom left of the Audacity window. If i...

Re: No sound in between repeats

Either don't select any silence in the region you want to repeat, or don't export as MP3 because it adds silence padding to the start and end of the file. Use WAV instead.

If that doesn't help, please give exact steps 1, 2, 3... to explain how to create the problem.

Re: How to extend the recording time

I've moved this to the 1.3 Linux forum as I doubt you are using Audacity 1.2. Are you using 1.3.11 or 1.3.12? See Help > About Audacity to find out. * If you have a selection (grey area) drawn in an existing track and Transport > Overdub (on/off) is checked, the recording will stop when it reaches t...

Re: Deleted file

I think I've mistakenly deleted the DATA folder for the song I've been working on. Although I've got the actual Audacity .aup file of the song, when I click on it, it says it can't find the data file. Do you know if there is anything I can do?? Search your computer for any folders called _data to s...

Re: Cannot record at all in Windows 7!

Please use 1.3.13 for Windows 7. Before we go into the possible settings you can use to record streaming audio, why not simply import the MP3 or WAV into Audacity - then you can edit pieces of it as you please. You will lose quality if you record the file rather than import it. You will not be able ...

Re: Cant OPEN PROJECT

Open the .aup file (it probably has an Audacity icon), not open the _data folder containing the .au files. The easiest way to open the .aup file is File > Recent Files in Audacity itself.

Re: Audacity crashing and shutting down Windows 7...

Absolutely nothing to do with Audacity, which cannot cause Windows to shut down. It sounds to me everything to do with the ATI drivers message you see. See here for some ideas on how you can debug the issue further: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=27735&start=10#p147793 Yo...

Re: Treble Boost Effect?

There is not a separate "Treble Boost" to complement "Bass Boost" but you can use Effect > Equalization instead (or also Effect > FFT filter in Audacity 1.2). FFT filter is almost the same as Equalization except the horizontal frequency scale is different. Equalization in 1.3 Bet...

Re: Cut down and simplified version of Audacity

It's possible a future Audacity might have different "modes" like "Beginner", "Intermediate" and "Advanced" which would be switchable in Preferences and with a button on the interface. No doubt the "simpler" modes would have fewer menu items (and a h...
