Software playthrough may not work on Macs - try LineIn.
If you are on OS X 10.6 you will probably get a much better overall experience with Audacity Beta.

Re: Noise removal chain: Nyquist error
Did you compile a unicode version of wxxWidgets to match with your audacity configure? Mh..how do I do that? I just compiled it as it was described in the installation manual. Maybe that's the reason why. I am using ubuntu 11.04 If you do default ./configure of Audacity you need to build unicode re...

Re: Can't adjust Master Volume or Mic Volume on laptop
I'm sure I have the CD that came with it. I just hope after all this, that that is the real problem. I have no idea what else could cause it. The funny thing is, when I go to thing on the right that says to check voice, it plays back crystal clear without all the static. It seems like if it were th...

Re: I think they should make a NEW Audacity!
When will Audacity 2.0 be released? See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=58329 And what does "stable version" mean? It means "completed", or "passed beta testing". See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle . It does not necessar...

Yo no hablo español, pero te sugiero que salga la otra versión de Audacity. Si no es al parecer en ejecución, abra el Windows Administrador de Tareas lo obligan a dejar de fumar.

Re: I think they should make a NEW Audacity!
There won't be significant new features in Audacity until we release the 1.3.x line as a new 2.0 "stable" version.
Feel free to post detailed feature requests explaining exactly what you would like here:

Re: input volume
You need to give much more information about what version of Windows you are using, what the three-digit version number of Audacity is (see Help > About Audacity), what device you are recording from and how it is connected to the computer. You can reset Audacity settings by following the instruction...

Re: sound cuts out
Have you thought of scheduling defragmentation so that Windows does it automatically? You don't want to do it when you are recording or doing something important, but you can set it to run overnight. Are you using Audacity 1.2? That version can crash when you stop after recording. The current 1.3.13...

Re: Can't adjust Master Volume or Mic Volume on laptop
Your sound device is broken. Go to Device Manager in the Windows Control Panel. It's under "System" then look on the "Hardware" tab. Expand "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" and right-click over the sound device. Try "Update driver", but it may say the drive...
