Re: File Exists -- confirm option defaults to YES
Are you suggesting that we have consistent behaviour when the user tries to overwrite data? Currently the behaviour is very different when trying to overwrite spectrum.txt, from when a user tries to overwrite a project, from when a user tries to overwrite an audio file. I don't get what you mean by...

Re: connecting usb casio midi not showing up in audacity
Audacity doesn't do MIDI. If your Casio has a headphones or line-out, you can connect that to the line-in on your computer if it has one. If not, you need to get simple USB audio interface, like the Behringer UCA202, fi. i already have the usb cable hooked up. and that isn't showing up on audacity....

Re: Save Files (not Projects) without Exporting
I think you could use SoX http://sox.sourceforge.net/Docs/Features if you are willing to use a command-line application and work out the commands you need. There is a binary for Mac so you don't need to compile SoX.

Re: How do I remove Reverb out of recordings?
I have a spirit app that has reverb on it. I'm told reverb could be pulled off of the spirits replies to clear up the voices. The quick answer is that it is not easy and if this is important to you, you want to spend a few hundred dollars on a specialised commercial deverb plugin. Use your favourit...

Re: Exported file does not play
Please always give us the Audacity three-part version number - some sites you can download Audacity from do not have the latest version. If you download from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/ you will always find the latest version there. What format are you exporting to and where are you playin...

Re: Listening to input.
Older or some extremely expensive computers might let you unmute mic and Line In inputs of the built-in sound device in the Playback side of the sound card's control panel (this may be exposed in the Windows Sound Control panel too). If available, this is hardware playthrough and has no appreciable ...

Re: Is Quicktime still needed to run Audacity?
QuickTime is categorically not needed for Audacity on Windows. There was QuickTime Pro for Windows. QuickTime's browser plugin is dangerous if you use a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox that supports it - you don't have to have QuickTime open to be exposed. Modern iTunes for Windows does...

Re: EQ, compression, help/Audacity with iD14 preamp
I have seen a situation where Audacity 'appears' to be working with ASIO4ALL. I don't understand what is actually occurring when that happens, but 'somehow' ASIO4ALL must be actually using MME, DirectSound, or WASAPI, even though it "appears" to be using ASIO. To me this looks like buggy ...

Re: Problem about sort the list of songs
I have read it legal to download from Spotify with premium account I'm not a lawyer, but I think the "terms of service" for Spotify are more restrictive than is generally assumed. For a definitive answer you would need to trawl through this lot: https://www.spotify.com/us/legal/end-user-a...

Re: File Exists -- confirm option defaults to YES
It's hard to see that a user option for Yes or No by default would be justified for an action that should be consistent in Audacity wherever it occurs. What does that sentence mean? :? What it says, assuming you read the rest of the topic? Or do you think the situation we have now where some overwr...
