Re: Combining 2 ( or more ) Pieces of Music.
Yes there is no limit apart from your disk space. There can be clicks if you join completely different pieces of music that have different volume levels at the join. Ideally you should have the pieces as separate tracks underneath each other and use Envelope Tool to fade the pieces into each other. ...

Re: IMPORTING TRACKS
I am currently converting my vinyl to mp3. One LP was too scratched so I purchased the download from a site. All fine. I want to import the 11 tracks to Audacity so that I can save it in the same fashion as all of my other LP's (at the moment it is in a folder). When I try to import it, the tracks ...

Re: Live recording in Limbo
Andrew, You should have the "audacity" folder in ~/Library/Application Support. If you generate, record or import some audio, click Effect > Equalization, choose "Save/Manage curves" then "Export...", the file save window should open there. But if you have saved the pro...
Re: Recording using Beta and Win 7
If you were looking at http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Click_Removal#Click_Removal_steps there was a mistake which said Click Removal was in the Edit menu, but it isn't - it's in the Effect Menu (in Dutch it is under "Klik-verwijdering" in the "Effecten" menu). I have corrected...

Re: Not able to record
In Audacity, click Help > Audio Device Info. Click in the list, CTRL + A to select all, then CTRL + C to copy, then paste into your reply. In the "Recording" tab of "Sound" in the Windows Control Panel, hold ALT then press PrtScr. Save the image as a PNG (not a BMP) then attach i...

Re: Error while opening sound device
I can record my first track, but when I try to record any subsequent tracks, I get the "Error while opening sound device" message. I am running WinXP and using a Gina 24 sound card. If I save the project, then reboot, it will let me record a second track, but this is extremely time consum...

Re: Background hiss in recording
I had similar problems, but through trial and error managed to get my recordings cleared up by going to the "Effect" Drop box, and then selecting the Noise removal facility. Highlight a section of the recording that has the white noise/hiss background and get the noise profile. Thanks, Br...

Re: Audacity is recording things IT shouldnt hear
I am not trying to record skype, the alternatives suggested are designed purely for that. My intent is to just record my voice input to the pc, without any of the pc noises being recorded. My skype problem applies to ANYTHING that produces sounds. Which is why I tested recording my voice and playin...

Re: Mic only records on one side
Thanks for the clear explanation, Jazzguy. Obviously since this is the Audacity Forum we'd presume people are using Audacity, importing the background music as a file then recording as an overdub . :) That said, Audacity doesn't have that Garageband "Mono 1/Mono 2" setting, only mono (as e...

Re: Live recording in Limbo
"Disk space remains for recording" only displays when you are recording. It is I believe accurate except that if you record in 24-bit quality it tells you that you have the same time remaining as when you record 32-bit, so underestimates the available time. Every edit on a whole track cost...
