Re: Multitrack playback bug
if a compensation feature were included then that could make the software more perfect than the modern mixing desk, and maybe many would prefer it that way. It would seem that whether you use the current method or a compensated method, either could have it's advantages and disadvantages, and theref...

Re: Lion Finder .au Files
I have Audacity 1.3.13 on OS 10.7 Lion. In "All My Files" in the Finder there are 3,000 .au files, even though I have only recorded three LPs. Does anyone know of a way around having all those files listed under "Music"? It makes the Finder very combersome. I'm not on OS X but i...

Added support for Audio Unit "MusicEffects"
We've just committed a patch that adds support for Audio Unit MusicEffects. An example of these are the AU effects from http://destroyfx.org/. "MusicEffects" support audio input like pure "Effect" AUs but are distinguished from them by having an option to use MIDI input to set ef...

Re: Export WAV in chain changes bit rate
Yes, for use in a chain where I normalize and truncate silence...then need to convert to small rate such as GSM6.10 or equivelant. OK I've sent you a private message with a link to the zip file containing an unofficial 1.3.14 alpha version of Audacity. This adds support for FFmpeg export and "...

Re: Exporting blank files
I am using 1.3. The current Beta is 1.3.13. You can check which exact version of 1.3 you have at Help > About Audacity. If you are using a Beta before 1.3.10 it has a bug that playing, rendering or exporting multiple tracks could lead to desynchronized playback or loss of audio data. Project rate i...

Re: I cannot record? What am i doing wrong?
So try putting one end of the cable into audio out and the other into line-in and record from Audacity using line-in. Gale No offense, but i tried that, and it didn't work which is the entire reason for this thread :$ It's the reason i don't know why it doesn't work... No offence taken, but you ask...

Re: Program display problems
On my initial use of the program, it displays ???? everywhere there should be text. So, the menus, menus options, etc. are displayed by groups of question marks. How can I get the program to display correctly? I hope someone can help, because I can't find anything about it in the docs or on the for...

Re: Multitrack playback bug
There is no bug (meaning something is happening that the developers don't intend). I think you're asking for some kind of feature to automatically scale the tracks equally so there is no clipping, or to have a master fader. These are popular Feature Request on our system: One-step way to avoid clipp...

Re: Export WAV in chain changes bit rate
Do you explicitly want it for a Chain? You can already export 8-bit WAV without a Chain by choosing "Other uncompressed files" when you export, then click "Options".hankeje wrote:I need this capability for phone systems as well and would like this fix...
