Re: Crash importing files from Unicode paths
Thanks, Bruno. I would do the tests in 1.3.14 if it's equally likely to crash. Sounds as if it's some natural variability that decides if it crashes? Or does importing so that a new project window is opened still always crash? Is there the same issue if an AIFF, WAV or OGG is in that Chinese folder?...

Re: Are there directions somewhere for the Easy Vocoder effe
If you are trying to vocode the voice with the music beat at the end, or with some other carrier wave, you can only (try to) do that with the shipped Audacity vocoder. Put the beat in the right hand channel of a stereo track and the voice in the left, then "Make Stereo Track" using the Tra...

Re: MP3 files lack data
I have just started using Audacity (1.3.13-beta, Mac OS X 10.6.8) to digitise LPs, and no problems with first few LPs. But some hitches with latest project. At first "export multiple" would not work at all and offered no explanation. I discovered I was at fault for using a non-acceptable ...

Re: "reference to invalid character number at line 6"
I am trying to open this saved ".aup" project, and there is an "invalid character line 7" message alert. Have you tried reading the post above ? The problem may be because you have foreign, accented or control characters in the metadata of a file you imported into the project. Y...

Re: Possible bug - Exported wav file corrupt
There's something badly wrong with the "TauntPack_2578.wav" (source) file. On Linux, Audacity handles it fine, but VLC just plays it as a short chirp and on the first time playing VLC froze for about a minute. Created a bug report at: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448 M...

Re: Crash importing files from Unicode paths
I created a folder named 汉语十日通·练习册_1 and put an mp3 file in there. I tried to open (through File->Open) that mp3 in Audacity 1.3.13-beta and it crashed. Same result in Audacity 1.3.14-alpha-Aug-27. If I import (File->Import->Audio) instead it works fine. No crash and the mp3 is correctly imported i...

Re: hangs when reach 2GB ram on win 64 system
Moved to Windows 1.3 forum because this is Windows specific discussion as you know, x64 system allocate a maximum of 2GB of memory for a single 32 bit process. That's true on 32-bit systems, but not on 64-bit as I understand it: http://blogs.technet.com/b/markrussinovich/archive/2008/11/17/3155406....

You said you had the random playback glitches in 1.3.8, though, where this all started. So do the repeatable recorded "bangs" that are in the same place in the waveform only occur in 1.3.13/14?
Have you had a random playback glitch in 1.3.14 since you moved to it?

Re: Lion Finder .au Files
I deleted the _data files, but kept the audacity project files. That seems to work just fine. I have burned the projects to CDs and they are also available in iTunes. The .aup project files are only a text file referencing the .au files in the _data folder for the project. So if you deleted the_dat...
