Re: Export to WAV Libsndfile error
I can confirm that I do not get any "orphaned file" (or any other type) errors upon re-opening the project. Still on the same Ubuntu Natty workstation w/Audacity from stock repos. Thanks for confirming. As soon as I get a chance I'll try playing with it on a stock Lucid workstation, and o...

Re: No audio from computer when recording
I upgraded to 1.3.13 and was able to record a data track after I changed my playback selection to SigmaTel Audio. I was able to successfully edit the file and saved it as both a wave file and an MP3 file. However, when I try to play them back, I still don't have any volume. I am using Musicmatch JU...

Re: Export to WAV Libsndfile error
Did you package the project before closing it? I'm sorry Gale; I don't have any idea what that means. I followed the steps I posted, exactly as I posted them - if you can explain what you mean by "packaging before closing", maybe I can answer? It means, File > Close before you place the ....

Re: More versatile Nyquist fade/amplify effect
Sadly, I'm a technically-inclined person who understands math, and I don't need or want "fade to level." Equally sadly, most users aren't, and they often make the most noise. Another issue is that the default waveform is linear, which doesn't make the "struggle" any easier when ...

Re: Export of modified files
Moved to 1.3.x Board The problem was what you said in your first line. After saving the file to the same folder the changes were not made.So I found the solution with saving it to new folder.I'm working with Audacity 1.3.13 and W Vista on a laptop HP 7000.So,for me I have no problem working the way ...

Re: Poor sound recording
1.2.6 can crash on Windows Vista and 7 when you press Stop after recording. That's why 1.2.6 now only supports XP and below. Windows should set a restore point when you install a service pack and roll back to it if install fails, but it's possible this problem started from your second attempt to ins...

Re: Overdub recording problems - distorted sound
Moved to correct 1.3.x Linux board {I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 along with Audacity 1.3.6.) When I go to overdub my first recorded track, it's very choppy, loud, and distorted for about five seconds before the program freezes and I have to kill the process. To begin with, update to the 1.3.12 Audacity p...

Re: Export to WAV Libsndfile error
Hi jrssystemsnet , Sorry for the confusion about the compressed project, but yes a standard project with .au files in the _data folder is almost always what we need. Did you package the project before closing it? This would explain the orphaned blockfiles (which Audacity would otherwise delete on cl...

Re: Are there directions somewhere for the Easy Vocoder effe
I'm not sure if the plug-ins folder is overwritten or not on Windows, so perhaps you could let me know for future reference. The 20 plug-ins (and any other files) that are explicitly installed by the Audacity installer are silently overwritten as per normal Windows practice. So if you had a customi...

Re: Export or Save in any supported format
1) Import or record a bit of audio 2) Make a duplicate of the track (Select the track then Ctrl+D ) 3) Apply "Normalize" to bring both tracks up to a peak of -1 dB 4) Set one track as 16 bit and the other track as 32 bit float (they both sound identical, though the 32-bit track will now u...
