suttlemyre wrote:How are you supposed to use that effect to reduce hiss, sounds like rain, thru my mike (acoustic guitar)
See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Noise_Removal - but you should not have that noise in the first place. See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Reducing_noise .

Re: Overwrite Tracks

You can Transport > Append Record or SHIFT + R to record at the end of the selected track(s):

If you don't have the built in Manual, click here:

Re: webloc recording

The frustrating thing is that I downloaded a speech and after doing the soundflower thing for Audacity I moved the recorded speech icon to the open Audacity and there was the sound ready for my manipulation. A .webloc file is a "web location". It's the Mac equivalent of a .URL file or &qu...

Re: Using 2 USB Snowball blue mics

Moved to correct 1.3 Forum I've been trying my best to get up to speed on this, but most of the posts I've seen are a few years old. I'm using Audacity 1.3 beta, and I have one Snowball blue USB mic that has worked fine on my laptop thus far...but I'm doing one on one interviews, and clearly I need...

Re: Launching Audacity by opening a file doesn't import the

Audacity.app is actually a folder, not an executable, which is fine, because it contains a whole bunch of associated files. If you dig down deeply enough, inside /Applications/Audacity/Audacity.app/Contents/MacOS/, lives Audacity and Audacity.sh, and apparently they have to be concatenated for the ...

Re: Timer

@Koz, I thought you were actually on about the previously raised problem of intuitively setting a recording ending next day. If you were just making an hour's recording that day starting half an hour later, I wonder if the last time you pressed OK on Timer Record you were experimenting with recordin...

Re: Intermittent Recording Dropouts with Tascam US 122

If you don't use MCE features you could try: MCE came bundled with my desktop and I've never used it so your method of disabling sounds great. Note that my "steps" in the MCE settings would not disable MCE, merely stop it loading on Windows startup. If anything happens that would trigger ...

Re: majority of recording missing for 7 recordings only

i wasnt personally doing these recordings it was someone else. Then are you opening Audacity projects (.aup) this other person created, or importing WAV or AIFF files created by the other person? If the latter, click File > Check Dependencies... which should let you see if you can copy in any WAV/A...

Re: Intermittent Recording Dropouts with Tascam US 122

When I began using Cubase LE, I first tried to install it onto this desktop. When that install didn't work I contacted the folks at Steinberg software who informed me that Cubase was incompatible with Windows XP media edition. That's when I began using the laptop. When I first installed 1.2 I was h...
