Re: Input from Hype Model 2010-TP Tape to MP3 converter
In a nutshell, exit Audacity if it's running, connect the USB tape converter to your computer using the USB cable, launch Audacity, click Edit > Preferences: Audio I/O and set the "Recording Device" to "USB Audio Codec" or similar and the "Playback Device" to your inbui...

Re: saving a correct sampling rate?
WAV recorded in sndrec32. Using Audacity to export it to mp3. But it gives it a sampling rate of 22k I want to save a sampling rate of 11k in the mp3. If you import an MP3 having a sample rate of 22050 Hz into an empty Audacity project, the project rate bottom left will change to 22050 Hz if it is ...

Re: resampling damages the sound
OK, I've found the culprit. The /tmp directory was placed in a RAM (as a tmpfs partition), with size limited to 512MB. Audacity obviously creates the temporary files in /tmp and there was not enough free space. Once I moved the directory somewhere else, everything worked just fine. My fault, I gues...

Re: Application folder can not be modified error
To install Audacity 1.3.13: 1 Double-click the downloaded .dmg to mount it 2 Then to install Audacity, copy the "Audacity" folder from the newly mounted .dmg to /Applications or any other location of your choosing. If you still receive errors about not being able to modify files, what did ...

Re: Inserting Tracks
If the files you want to import are AAC files they should import if they are not old rights-restricted M4P files from iTunes store. They will import into the Beta version of Audacity for Mac (currently v1.3.13 here): http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac but not into Audacity 1.2. 1.3.13 is the...

Re: Inserting Tracks
Just wanted to clarify. I can't install audacity to my application folder. When I try to install it to my applications folder, the message says" Application folder can not be modified". You also mentioned that in another topic, but as that issue is nothing to do with inserting tracks, let...

Re: problem recording streaming audio
You have to have line-in both visible and enabled in "Sound" for Audacity to see it. If you click the Windows globe and click "Control Panel" > "Hardware and Sound" and look in "Sound", is there any separate control panel for your sound device apart from the l...

Re: Launching Audacity by opening a file doesn't import the
Can you try "Open with to launch Audacity" using HEAD, and executing an .aup or .aiff to launch Audacity using 1.3.13? Gale I don't understand what you're asking me to try. Basically the variations (as far as I can see) that you haven't tried to date. 1 Quit whatever version of Audacity y...

Re: I've installed LAME library, but how do I locate it?
Tiger...Hmm. That's the lame for Audacity 1.3.13. They're different. No, 1.2.5 which rovf has is the Intel version of 1.2, so the LAME library for 1.2.5 is exactly the same as the library for 1.3.13 (Lame Library v3.98.2 for Audacity.dmg). 1.2.6 for Power PCs needs the older LameLib. As to compatib...

Re: Intermittent Recording Dropouts with Tascam US 122
Ok.........I have found a legit copy of XP (sans MCE) which I will attempt to install.. I have to check if I can just upgrade without doing a full blown clean edition. Bear in mind there is a small negative that support for Windows XP ends April 8, 2014 and requires Service Pack 3 (that's if big bu...
