Re: installation's problems
Make sure you are using 1.3.13 (the "13" is important because it has a fix for the problem you may be experiencing): http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-macosx-ub-1.3.13.dmg Male sure you are looking in <your home folder>/Library/Application Support/audacity for audacity.cfg. But...

Re: Switch off scrolling during recording
There is no way to "fix" content that is missing unless there is identical content somewhere else in the recorded track that can be inserted.

Re: usb interface
not sure i know how to select in windows. See "Detecting USB and Firewire devices" here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Troubleshooting_Recordings#No_waveform_recorded_behind_the_cursor To test if the device is "seen" by Windows, right-click the speaker icon by the clock > Re...

Re: Switch off scrolling during recording
There is no need to restart Audacity after changing "Update Display". @ Lonesome Drifter, do you want to vote for the record or playback cursor to stop still and the waveform scrolls continually? It might be one solution. I can't honestly see anything "fixable" (or even hear anyt...

Re: Recording a synth question
Well, I don't have the control panel in my tray, though I also don't have the normal volume control (I've tried getting it back to no avail). I think my system might be a bit screwy. Anyway I did a search for SoundMAX and found a folder under Program Files/Analog Devices/SoundMAX. There were a coup...

Re: Error Message for non-requested cancel of export
It seems when exporting multiple as wma (possibly others as well), if a file name is too long the export simply stops there. If it's the first file, there's a warning "Export stopped after 0 files" but no reason given. If it's after the first file, there's not even a warning. It would be ...

Re: Trouble changing tools.
Also please right-click over audacity.exe in its installation folder > Properties then click the "Compatibility" tab. It should be set to no compatibility mode, but try setting it to compatibility for earlier versions of Windows.

Re: Trouble changing tools.
Well, Gale. I went through the steps of exiting Audacity, trimming the .cfg, then launching 1.3.13. I'm still having the same issue. In addition to that, Audacity will now no longer save my history at all, and every time I start it up it shows me the "Welcome to Audacity, how to get help"...
Re: noisy
What would having a stand alone cassette player do? Bypass the Victoria III and go right to the PC? Yes, if your computer has a line-in port, connect line-out or headphones-out of the cassette player to line-in of the computer, then set Audacity to record from line-in. I switched ports and it now s...
