Re: Confirm LOF import working on 1.3.13?
I can't seem to get Audacity (WIN) to import my LOF list. I've done this before on my mac and loved it. Can anyone confirm that it IS working on the current beta release? I tested it recently on 1.3.14 alpha on Windows 7 so I see no reason it should not work in 1.3.13 Beta. Please try the tips here...

Re: Quality and volume degrade after a few seconds of record
Gale, what is your role in the Audacity project? You helped code Audacity? No, I'm not actually a programmer, I do some support and documentation but mostly decide on Quality Assurance, stuck in the middle between the users on one "side" and the developers who write the code on the "...

Re: Quality and volume degrade after a few seconds of record
If you have this: http://www.korg.com/Product.aspx?pd=234 it says the output is "line/headphone dual-purpose output (stereo phone jack)". So while it may be sufficiently tolerant to take a little amplification, theoretically line-in would be the better place to plug it in to my view. Gale

Re: Converting Dual Mono to Mono
I digitized numerous analog cassette tapes, consisting of spoken word as dual mono, with GarageBand. The resulting files are AIFF files with standard Linear PCM as 2 channels. The left channel is typically louder; the audio was recorded like that on the original tapes. I want to convert the AIFF fi...

Re: I've installed LAME library, but how do I locate it?
Please follow the messages here and not look elsewhere. As we asked before, please state what version of OS X you are using. Please download the zip already suggested: http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/Lame_Library_v3.98.2_for_Audacity_on_OSX.zip Then follow the instructions already given: http://forum....

Re: Quality and volume degrade after a few seconds of record
I have the same issue, but I have no idea how to resolve this. I have already selected "Do Nothing" under Sound->Communications Still, it becomes "tinny, computerized, and waterlogged" after about 6 seconds of sustained input. Where can I change the microphone setting? Have you ...

Re: I've installed LAME library, but how do I locate it?
I am using Audacity 1.3. We don't have enough information - it's better to start a new topic so we have your own information. Are you on OS X 10.4 or later? If so, check at Audacity > About Audacity that you have 1.3.13. The "13" is important. If you have some earlier version please downl...

Re: Trouble changing tools.
Audacity should always respect audacity.cfg on launch if you force-quit then edit the .cfg file. Did you add any VST plug-ins to the system since this started happening, or maybe, new audio programs that may have done so? Can you force quit Audacity then edit .cfg so that it only has this content: N...

Re: Recording a synth question
I have never tried VSTHost - was it the "Legree" VST slave program you added? Is there any virtual output from VSTHost that VAC can see or does that reintroduce delay?

Re: Error Message for non-requested cancel of export
Thanks for replying. 255 characters is the Windows NTFS file name length limit so Windows won't let you create a file name with more characters than that. Audacity behaviour is variable here according to the format. With one illegitimate file name between two legitimate ones, WAV, FLAC and MP3 expor...
