Re: WAV files exported from Audacity are not bit-identical
I'm using Audacity 1.3.14 on Ubuntu 10.10. Test method: Disable dither in Audacity. Import a 16-bit WAV file. Export the file with a new name. Calculate the MD5 checksum for both files I've just run this test on 4 different WAV files, and each time the checksum has matched. Same matching results in...

Re: Trouble changing tools.
Glad the problem has gone away, but I don't have any explanation. Audacity's temp files have .au extension and are in the path you specify in the Directories Preferences. I'm not aware of any other circumstance that normal operation of the program would create any other temporary files. Our download...

Re: location of eqcurves.xml file in mac osx 10.7 lion
the reason i want to get at the eqcurves.xml file is that when i was using 10.6, i was modifying it using a text editor to create complex eq curves. Did you save any of the complex curves as presets? If so and you can see them, then Audacity is reading the EQCurves.xml file OK. Also if in the Audac...

Re: WAV files exported from Audacity are not bit-identical
I've tested again with Audacity 1.3.13 Nothing has been resolved. That is why it is still listed in the 1.3.13 Release Notes . Any hopes? 2.0 has not yet been released yet due to: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_1.3.13#Known_Issues_at_Release As Steve said, this will not be fixed be...

Re: Confirm LOF import working on 1.3.13?
No errors in the log file. It thinks it's doing something, but it doesn't give the expected result. Paths are correct. Doesn't matter how many entries are listed as long as there's more than one. 23:44:12: File name is c:users~~~USER~~~desktopj3 2.lof 23:44:12: Mime type is * 23:44:12: Opening with...

Re: Converting Dual Mono to Mono
I think I'll use those RIFF Info fields that Audacity supports. How many characters allowed in Comments? 256? I don't know what the limit is but it's probably determined by wxWidgets; metadata doesn't run up against file name/path name length limitations. I exported a 500 character WAV comment on W...
Re: Uninstall
"libmp3lame.dylib" to Trash. 'Find' does not return a hit for that file. I must have one because MP3 export works. Is that because it's in /usr and you need to search protected folders to find it? If freddie29 got the zip of LAME and installed it in his own user space then FInd should fin...

Re: How to have a pausing point
As I understand it you only want to split the backing track, so click above the Mute / Solo buttons in the backing track to select just that track, then split (CTRL + I) starting from the left so that you have somewhere to move the clip to. Or click and drag to select a section for pause and silence...
Re: Uninstall
Drag the the "Audacity" folder, any dmg or zip files you downloaded and "libmp3lame.dylib" to Trash. If you were not able to export MP3s after all, you can export as WAV or AIFF from Audacity and convert that WAV or AIFF to MP3 in iTunes. To do that, click the following link: htt...
