Re: 1.3.13 Manual, Only HTML, No PDF?

We'll add your vote for a PDF manual nonetheless as it help us gauge "demand". We had a script to extract PDF from the Wikicode the Manual is written in online but it became unsuitable.

Re: WAV files exported from Audacity are not bit-identical

Ok. I removed my Audacity install, and removed .audacity-data directory from $HOME. I followed every step as of your link said. I still get the same problem, disabling dithering, setting project to 16/44.1, doing everything right. I doubt this is hardware problem. No problems with Windows. Perhaps ...

WAV files exported from Audacity are not bit-identical

Split from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=9429&p=158936#p158936 I'm using Audacity 1.3.14 on Ubuntu 10.10. Test method: Disable dither in Audacity. Import a 16-bit WAV file. Export the file with a new name. Calculate the MD5 checksum for both files Checksums identical I ...

Re: location of eqcurves.xml file in mac osx 10.7 lion

<user>/Library became invisible with 10.7. Not one of Apple's best decisions IMO. I know they were threatening to, but did not realise they had done it. Other workarounds (including a permanent one) to show ~/Library here: http://osxdaily.com/2011/07/22/access-user-library-folder-in-os-x-lion/ So t...

Re: WAV files exported from Audacity are not bit-identical

I'm using Audacity 1.3.14 on Ubuntu 10.10. So you are using a pre-release then. The differences I spotted are between Audacity 1.3.13 for Linux and Windows. Can you try 1.3.13 ? That would be pointless. Your 1.3.13 is not our current code, nor (unless you compiled our 1.3.13 source tarball ) is it ...

Re: Recovering headerless aiff file in Audactiy

I'm a journalist and I am trying to recover some interviews saved as aiff files on the iTalk app on my iPhone. I'm able to open the raw file (recovered from backup) in Audacity but the file appears as a solid block of noise. I gather (using SoundHack) that the file header is the issue, but I have n...

Re: Piano mp3 to MIDI

Audacity has no support for MIDI. While Audacity probably can't directly help Yasick, a blanket statement like that isn't really true. Audacity (Beta) does import (but not play) MIDI and can do cut and paste edits on MIDI files, then export the edited MIDI file. @Yasick, I tried a few MIDI search e...

Re: Importing AC3 files

The software I mentioned above will NOT work on purchased/commercial DVDs which are encrypted/copy-protected. Same goes for Audacity importing audio from the VOBs using FFmpeg, of course. DVD Decrypter can decrypt most encrypted DVDs and demux the audio on its own in the format it's in on the DVD (...

Re: Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode) altering sample format rando

Thanks for the report. Please check at Help > About Audacity that you are using the latest 1.3.13 Beta. What application says the files are not 16-bit? If they were 32-bit they would be twice the file size of a 16-bit file of the same length. Are you exporting from Audacity using "WAV (Microsof...

Re: I've installed LAME library, but how do I locate it?

The poster did say so. Audacity 1.2.5 (on MacOSX 10.4) That was the original poster, not Freddie 29 :) . Another good reason to start your own topic and not attach to someone else's even if the topic looks relevant. I added this point to the Wiki help for the Forum/-users list: http://wiki.audacity...
