Re: Recording Issues
In Audacity 1.2 you will almost certainly have to set the USB mic as default input in Apple Audio MIDI Setup before Audacity will recognise it. See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mac_Bugs#Support_and_setup_for_external_audio_devices But please update to 1.3.13 as 1.2 will most likely give all sor...

Re: problem with the latest version of Audacity
I meant 1.3.9...... I have already got the latest drivers (the manufacturer hasn't released ANY updates since I last updated my sound driver... and my microphone is enabled, I can hear it in computer speakers.... but the latest version of Audacity doesn't think so If you click the Windows globe and...

Re: WAV files exported from Audacity are not bit-identical
PORTSMF is for MIDI read/write and LIBSMS for the sliding timescale effect so I can't see they are relevant. Steve and I will have libsndfile 1.0.21. I use default ./configure (for HEAD) including SYSTEM libsndfile: LIBVORBIS: using SYSTEM libraries LIBMAD: using SYSTEM libraries LIBSNDFILE: using S...

Re: Add continues click track to the song
A click track is normally only a convenience to make it easy to sing or play to the beat when you are recording an overdub. It does not have to be exactly the length of the song. Another way to do it is just to generate the default click track without changing any of its settings, then Effect > Repe...

Re: WAV files exported from Audacity are not bit-identical
I rebuilt using LIBSNDFILE: using LOCAL libraries and NOW IT WORKS. I have isolated LIBSNDFILE and I get the error. So it's not LIBSNDFILE that is causing it... Do you mean that with all libs configured "local" except LIBSNDFILE=system, the WAV files are still identical? I would convert a...

Re: Can I use it to record Noisy Neighbors?
Do you have an iPhone or second generation iPod? Those are the only hardware the software meter is calibrated for as far as I can see.

Re: Add continues click track to the song
Click Track does not generate a click track for the length of audio you select. You have to tell it the number of beats per measure (BPM) then either the number of measures (to determine the length) OR the duration (in minutes and seconds in whole numbers). See http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Gen...

Re: How to find loop points?
There is some information about looping here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Looping To import MP3s, you have to add the LAME encoder. See: http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=install&i=lame-mp3 Do you know where the loop points are where you want to split the file into three? Audacity cannot ...

Re: Can I use it to record Noisy Neighbors?
In the UK the local government body (councils) would be the people to contact if neighbours did not respond to persuasion. Their sound level meters would be accepted as evidence by the courts, but a recording generally wouldn't be accepted as evidence of the level of noise (unless proved to be assoc...
