Re: keyboard shortcuts for Fade In/Out
I also find it frustrating that shortcuts are available for so many functions I don't use, but that the two that I DO use frequently are not in the editable list. I've added your vote for "Bind effects to buttons or keyboard shortcuts" on Wiki Feature Requests. Don't forget that on Window...

Re: Razor blade off the first half-second.
I can't get more than 11 tracks with "Fit Vertically" without removing toolbars. Amplifying Steve's point, while the drag-select downwards will stop when you get to the bottom of the visible tracks, you can help it along by dragging down on the vertical scrollbar then dragging down the reg...

Re: Artist is Listed as Director in WAV files Per MediaInfo
Hi,
You need to ask MediaInfo
. The LIST INFO specification says the tag name is "Artist". Audacity just writes the "IART" tag ID and the data for the tag, It's up to the application what name it ascribes to the tag.

Re: Orphaned Blockfiles
The original file was saved from the WAV file using File > Save As, but any subsequent savings were done using Ctrl + S, or by closing the project and choosing to save the file. That cannot (should not) produce multiple .aup files and _data folders. The name change was done post-edits, using explor...

Re: Noise Removal Tests
I'd score it 8-2 to coring. The first half second of the Noise Removal attempt sounds really clean to me (better than coring), but then it deteriorates like Steve describes and gets more muffled (borne out by Plot Spectrum, almost nothing above 6000 Hz in the Noise Removal sample after about half a ...

Re: Audacity will no longer open....
Well, I have the same problem again..... Only this time nothing is working, any answers? Please check your exact Audacity version at Help > About Audacity. If it's less than 1.3.13 (for example, 1.3.12) get the 1.3.13 download: http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-win-unicode-1.3.13.exe Fo...

Re: Corrupted Audacity Files
Thanks, Tony. I don't see any evidence in the .aup file of .au files that are longer than they should be. I do see you have a mono file "CBS_NBA_85_montage" which seems to be 16-bit (making the permitted length of the .au files greater) but all the other un-named tracks are 32-bit. Does &q...

Re: WAV files exported from Audacity are not bit-identical
just (./configure) renders the problem. So basically all 11.04 installations should have the same issue. ... The only working way was to use --with-lib-preference-local , and that will configure Audacity with all the libs in the source tree. Perhaps a combination of 1.0.23 with some other lib as be...

Re: WAV files exported from Audacity are not bit-identical
Using cmp to see the different bytes. [email protected]:~/wav$ cmp -bl *.wav 37728473 0 ^@ 1 ^A 37728475 0 ^@ 3 ^C [email protected]:~/wav$ Using diff it just says files are different, there's an option to return "trash", the -a option, which doesn't help anything. Seems that is just one ...

Re: Intermittent Recording Dropouts with Tascam US 122
Hi Bob,
So have you installed XP sans MCE? Does it help Audacity 1.3.14 or other recorders to record without bangs or dropouts using Tascam?
