Re: Possible Virus Attack?

If you are on Windows 7, it's not a virus but a Windows security indication that not everyone can access the folder. Are you saving the projects in your own C:Users<your username> folder? That might account for it. It's extremely complex and generally agreed to be buggy behaviour and I make no claim...

Re: Audacity won't let me select between whole numbers?!

I'm trying to make selections on a track, and it seems as though the selection tool will only let me select points in the track where there is a whole number at the top of the time line. (for example, If I'm zoomed out so that I can see the time line in seconds, I can only select on the 1, 2, 3 etc...

Re: 8 bit, 8 Khz, mono, u-law as a WAV file

You posted in the 1.2 Forum but I moved it to the 1.3 Forum. You just need to make sure the project rate (bottom left of the Audacity window) is at 8000 Hz before you export, plus use WAV header and U-Law encoding as before. WAV files don't have settable bit rate (kbps) in "Options", becau...

Re: Convert a Surround sample down to Stereo

Seems to me that Chains does not see the first two "left" and "right" tracks as left and right, but just as mono. Chains would export the multichannel file as stereo giving you the same result as manual export, if there was a way after import to make the first two tracks into a s...

Re: audacity alpha freezes

The Mixer Board problems are still in the latest "Nightly Builds" but Vaughan is looking at Mixer Board issues that arose from MIDI changes at the moment. The changes are committed now, so if you wish you can get the latest "Nightly" build here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki...

Re: Still not working (october 2011 alpha version)

Tried with: Audacity ® 1.3.14-alpha-Oct 14 2011 (Unicode) Same files. When exporting, the result is just a crippled wav file :( Does somebody know any programs out there that can (batch) clean up corrupted wav files? I has a collection of almost four thousand files that is pretty much useless becau...

Re: How to view file properties and export to same folder.

The source file is in wav format. i have backups of all files before doing any work. my aim is to reduce the volume to half the original volume. Im a noob in sound processing so i dont know what db is. OK, I thought the concern with the file information was because you wanted to halve the file size...

Re: Voice While Recording

It is expected and normal that your voice is laid down behind (to right of) the beat. It happens because the voice takes a little time to travel through the computer. Try zooming in (the button with a plus sign inside a magnifying glass), then press F5 to enable Time Shift Tool. Now you can click an...

Re: Windows 7 listen while recording

I have had external audio hooked up to the PC's line in and have not been able to hear it over the speakers previously. It there was a mute/unmute for line-in, you would go to the "Playback" tab of Sound, right-click over Speakers > Properties then click "Levels". Otherwise you ...

Re: Cannot install Freeverb on Audacity Beta

your FreeVerb dll works perfectly. Can you believe that? Many thanks indeed. I see it doesn't have any presets, and the interface looks similar to GVerb except that the parameters are different and the measurement units are confusing, for instance, room size is from 0 to 1 and other numbers are exp...
