Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)
I think the audio deletion especially at the start of a song is pretty close to a deal breaker for a default action, as is what will seem a highly unusual way of manipulating a selection. Would the whole cross-fade thing be simpler if we excluded standard fade in and out? For "mix tapes" y...

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)
Are you saying that it works in Audacity 1.3.4 but not in 1.3.3? As you'll recall, the agreed text on http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Download_Nyquist_Plug-ins#Plug-in_Lists is that version 3 plug-ins do not support < 1.3.4. And yes as expected, the interface is corrupted in 1.3.3. Then maybe &qu...

Re: Program material crashing program
No the material itself cannot cause a crash. Assuming you are recording from the intended USB input, the problem is probably that you have run out of USB bandwidth. Try another USB cable, and make sure the NAD is connected to a spare USB port on the computer, not to a USB hub. If you have other USB ...

Re: CD only plays on pc!
Set the burning software to burn an "audio CD" or "Music CD", not a "Data CD". The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) are your friend:

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)
Then "Fade Length" in the interface could actually be 10 seconds where there is a selection of at least 10 seconds. Of course having read your post to the mailing lists, it's much clearer, but I deliberately did not read it until after looking at the plug-in. My point is that "Fade L...

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)
That should read "1.3.4" by the way.;; version 3 plug-in (requires Audacity 1.3 or later)

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)
Thanks, Steve. This is just "stupid user" comments because I haven't thought a lot about this. I thought we wanted "Cross-Fade" with a hyphen given we don't use the more common "Crossfade"? Not that I care as long as we are consistent. Help says: "The 'Fade Shape' ...

Re: Audacity destroyed music after edit
A few times when I exported audio, Audacity automatically changed the name of the original external file to "[filename]old.wav" without my asking it to. But sometimes not. Any thoughts on why it did that, and why inconsistently? Which Original External File? The one you were writing to, o...

Re: Audacity 1.3.13 crashes at startup
I've used Audacity for years on my MBP and 2 days ago started to act in a strange way, now is not working any more I've tried to uninstall and reinstall but nothing. In detail: 2 days ago I downloaded some audio files with digidelivery and tried to open them with audacity (with file>open). I had a ...
