Re: Trouble recording from DJ controller

If you would like help, please tell us: what version of Windows you are on (for example, XP or Vista) exactly what three-section version number of Audacity you are using (for example, 1.2.6 as found at Help > About Audacity) the make and model number of the DJ controller and how it connects to the c...

Re: record

Is Google Call the same as Google Voice? I know you want to record outgoing calls, but Google Voice appears to support recording incoming calls natively: http://www.google.com/support/voice/bin/answer.py?answer=115082 The problem in recording VoIP is always in recording both sides of the call. Audac...

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)

Is there some way we can word the slider text that makes it clear that the selection includes the initial "x" seconds for the fade-out and the final "x" seconds for the fade-in? Pretty hard with "cross fade only" taking space in the text (which was another motivation f...

Re: Multitracking with Beta 1.3 in Windows 7 (64bit)

Track 1 was an imported mp3 320kb saved from a previous Edirol recording - perhaps the format/sample rate of the live recording on Audacity was mismatched with the mp3 imported ? Are mp3 imports held as wav after importing ? Not sure what the track 2 recording format was. Audacity always works with...

Re: Audacity vendido?

I have no way of finding out whether the seller is taking money for bundling Audacity with the player unless I make the purchase, something I cannot afford to do. How will you find out even if you do purchase it? If the package is EUR 50, is Audacity 1 EUR and the player 49 EUR (or vice-versa)? I w...

Re: Listening and recording at the same time

First, I'm an almost brand new user. I'm technical when it comes to PCs, but I'm not very knowledgeable about recording. I've searched the wiki and the forums. I couldn't find anything, though this was a difficult one for me to figure out how to search. I am a songwriter. I have digitally recorded ...

Re: Input device doesn't list ATI HD card

As Steve points out, there are workarounds listed on http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel. Sometimes, for example with Realtek sound devices, the sound device has its own control panel (inside the Windows Control Panel) which may have a way of enabling a ste...

Re: couldnt find the project data folder: "filename_data"

Look at the name of the .aup file. That project's _data folder has to have the same name as the .aup and be in the same folder. Example: Suppose it is called "guitar.aup". That .aup file is looking for a folder called "guitar_data" and that "guitar_data" folder has to ...

Re: Multitracking with Beta 1.3 in Windows 7 (64bit)

Is this problem in Windows 7 new, or did you sometimes get playback of multiple tracks or recording-with-playback distorted before now? What device do you connect the mic through? How much RAM do you have? 64-bit computing needs more than 32-bit, and Windows 7 64-bit needs 2 GB RAM minimum: http://w...

Re: 60 Hz hum

What audible frequency is this and how do I remove just that hum? If you have already identified in Analyze > Plot Spectrum that you have 60 Hz hum, make sure you are using Audacity 1.3.13 Beta then use Effect > Notch Filter as described here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Notch_Filter Gale
