Re: Exporting using WAV
Make sure you choose "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16-bit PCM" when exporting. If that does not work, open Windows Media Player first then drag the WAV into the Media Player Library or a playlist, to give it a chance to figure out what format it is. If that doesn't work, then probably the audio ...

Re: Can't export, need "properly configured FFmpeg"
That link acts funny on my machine. It is supposed to jump to the specific anchor point on the page that gives the iTunes instructions. Where does it go on your machine? iTunes conversion happens at the incoming step, not the export step. You change iTunes to your preferences and then import the fi...

Re: Now this is embarrassing...
Thanks to the handy little stereo to mono option that's included in this version even the monofication of the finished article is now a simple click. About the only thing missing from Audacity now, from my point of view, is an 'Mp3Gain' feature. But I guess that's another post in another area. 8-) ...

Re: lame_enc.dll file
I a trying to export the aup files to an MP3 file for saving on my computer. The instructions for Audacity call for a sequence of steps that calls for "lame_enc.dll" file to be downloaded one time. I have downloaded the "Lame v3.98.3 for Audacity on Windows.exe"file but when the...

Re: "length of recording" gauge
There isn't a lot of room for a feature very similar to what we have already. Is it difficult to use the Timeline above the waveform or the Audio Position counter at the bottom to see how much recording has elapsed? Or don't your recordings start at time zero? If you want to limit recording to the l...

Re: Can't export, need "properly configured FFmpeg"
What format are you exporting to? You need LAME for MP3 export and FFmpeg for MP4/AAC export. Please upgrade to Audacity 1.3.13: http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-macosx-ub-1.3.13.dmg As it says on http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#ffdown: FFmpeg 0.6.2 for ...

Re: FC14 Recording Issues Audacity 1.3.13 under Gnome
it is nice that this thread was started almost 4 years ago. It is much preferable to start a new thread. Almost always, your issues will not be identical, and you will likely not be using the same version of Audacity as the original poster. Please look at Help > About Audacity and tell us the three...

Re: strange problems on cassette but radio OK?!
A simple thing that you can try is increasing the "Audio to Buffer" setting (Edit > Preferences > Recording). Try setting it to 500 (the default is 100). Doing this will probably make the playback/recording cursor move in jumps but that is nothing to worry about. Increasing the buffer all...

If I may be so bold... so much could be assisted (not necessarily solved, but still assisted) with a graphic. ...and correct me if I'm wrong, but that can't be done with a Nyquist plug-in, right? If so, then my response is that Nyquist is the wrong way to make this tool. Again, I know nothing about...
