Re: Now this is embarrassing...
I would vote for Audacity's Normalize to include a Replay Gain choice. Does this count, or do I head for the 'Adding Features to Audacity' board now? OK thanks, I'll add your vote directly to the Wiki. No need to add it to the "Adding Features to Audacity' board" as we don't store the vot...

Re: TROUBLE DOWNLOADING LAME .exe FILE
If you have issues, download the zip, not the .exe installer. This applies to the FFmpeg installer and the Audacity program downloads too. Apart from the issue that if you are on a school or business network you may not have permission to install programs, several computer security programs wrongly ...

Re: Questions about labels and saving
Let's be clear about this. I'm talking about a version which is 10 years old. SS 2 is plain 2-channel single track; it does not do multi-track nor a lot of other things (eg, VST). I'm not saying it is more powerful than Audacity. But I am saying that it does selecting and marking quite a bit better...

Re: Can't export, need "properly configured FFmpeg"
iTunes conversion happens at the incoming step, not the export step. You change iTunes to your preferences and then import the file. Then you can drag the file back out in the new format. :? . Not on Windows. If you drag in a WMA file, iTunes offers to convert it to MP3, otherwise it imports pre-ex...

Re: Input from Hype Model 2010-TP Tape to MP3 converter
This is my first time posting so sorry if I do it incorrectly. I have one of these also, just got it. I can't find the toolbar you are referring to. I have XP and the 1.2x version not the beta. It is set for my real player settings but I am not seeing what you are referring to here in person's post...

Re: Export MP3 issues
Do you have Windows set to show you file name extensions? typically, Windows tries to hide all that from you and you never see the .mp3 extension. If you do see it, then the filename is really MyMusic.mp3.mp3 which will confuse some players. I don't know what happens on Mac, but on Windows and Linu...

Re: Export MP3 issues
Don't add a dot (period) in the file name you want to export. If you need the dot in the file name, type the extension as well. For example if you want to export "dot.com.mp3" type: dot.com.mp3 in the file name box when you export. We don't add the extension automatically if the file name ...

If the ReplayGain gain value is written to the ID3 tags, a player that supports ReplayGain for that format can adjust its output level accordingly. Or would you vote instead for Audacity's Normalize to include a Replay Gain choice? The difference is that writing the gain tag doesn't affect the file'...

Re: Connecting Turntable to Bose Soundock 2
This isn't much to do with Audacity, but if the turntable outputs are definitely "RCA" line-level (not PHONO outputs) and the BOSE accepts line level input (which I presume it does as it accepts a CD player), yes. This is on the basis of the Quickstart guide for Ion's "Profile LP"...
