Re: Overdub recording problems - distorted sound
What mic have you got now? Is it a physical mic that plugs in to the computer (if so, what port is it plugged into?), or do you mean an internal mic? What has line-in got to do with this? Have you got a physical mic connected to a physical pre-amplifier, and that pre-amp is connected to line-in? Gale

Re: Wahwah isn't working
Hello, Gale! I'm trying to apply wahwah to tracks between 5-10 seconds and around 2 minutes long. I've already turned off the Audio Cache on the Directory Preferences... but Audacity keeps crashing :( . By the way, wahwah is the only effect i've had any trouble with. Look at Help > About Audacity a...

Re: noise in the song after recording
the hissing noise is dissappearing,, but the recorded song is breaking, Is that happening because you tried Noise Removal? Or is it happening for some other reason? If because of noise removal, try using a lower setting on the Noise Removal slider. It is a balance between leaving noise in and havin...

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)
Do you know what actually sets the font? Must be the OS. I changed the "Applications" font in Ubuntu 10.10 to LM Math Italic size 20 and the Help Screen respects that - so of course that messes the formatting up with short lines and it overflows at the bottom. Our decision (http://forum.a...

Re: Overdub recording problems - distorted sound
Using Audacity 1.3.13 beta. Not Linux - Windows 7 (which I suspect is at the root of the problem - I have no such prob with same version of Audacity on my XP laptop.) I don't even know what pulseaudio is! Let's discuss this then in the Windows board. Topic split to http://forum.audacityteam.org/vie...

Re: How to reduce the wav file size in audacity 1.3.13
A friend of mine says I need to convert it with MPEG-layer3 and encoder settings 8000 Hr - 18 kBit/s - Stereo - 2kB/sec. I cannot find these settings in audacity. MPEG layer 3 means export as "MP3 Files" from Audacity (File > Export). Before saving the file, click "Options": htt...
