Re: Stereo Mix not recording
There is no sound coming through those vertical meter bars to the right of each device in Sound. So if you can hear audio in that state, things are really broken. Are you sure when you right-click over the speakers and stereo mix > Properties, then the Levels tab, that you don't have them muted? Onc...

Re: Annoying behavior, which must have a simple fix.
All four toolbars in 1.2.6 stayed on top of all. I'll add your vote as a few people would like the old behaviour, though many did not. We also don't have global hotkeys that work whatever program you are in, which would save you having to have a toolbar on top of all (as I understand it, widgets sup...

Re: Strange behaviour with J key
This bug is in the 1.3.13 Release Notes and is being tracked on Bugzilla: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40 Undoing delete with CTRL + Z seems to be a reproducible cause. Please let us know if you find any other ways of consistently making the bug happen. If you click Edit > Prefer...

Re: Incorrect AAC Opening
Audacity v1.3.13-beta, Mac OS X v10.6.8 Attempting to open an MP4 file with Audacity (without ffmpeg) yields incorrect parameters. The file is 44.1kHz, stereo, 16-bit AAC, 48kbps profile: High-Efficiency v2 encoder: Lavf52.94.0 Audacity opens it as mono, 22kHz. The only difference between "ope...

Re: Project and Date File in Same Folder, Won't Open?
Are you using Audacity 1.2 or a 1.3 version? Please give us the three-section version number at Help > About Audacity, or better still, attach the .aup file ("Upload attachment" underneath the message "Preview/Submit" buttons). Have you tried File > Open from inside Audacity to o...

Re: Can't record from sound card
the ONLY Recording devices I see are the Microphone and Line In. + Should I be seeing a Stereo Mix option ? based on "Mixer Toolbar Issues" page? Audacity only records computer playback if you can make the sound device expose an input for doing that. Try to reveal this option in the sound...

Re: Stereo Mix not recording
I've tried changing the playback output device to everything it gives me an option to change it to. You have to play the sound on the same sound card that has the Stereo Mix device. The sound that is playing has to be audible and unmuted or you cannot record it. If you still need help, go to "...

Re: Overdub recording problems - distorted sound
It's quite common on Windows 7 (more so in laptops and smaller computers) for the internal mic to be always on and for there to be a setting for the internal mic and external "red" mic port to be "tied" as one input. Even though it's less common on Desktops, it may still be worth...

Re: Edit Chain crash
I can confirm that the crash also occurs with 1.3.13 on Windows XP. I've also tested with Audacity 1.3.14 (nightly) on Windows XP and on Debian Linux and the problem appears to be fixed. If you have OS X 10.4 or later you could try the nightly build for Mac which can be downloaded from the top of t...
