Re: Project and Date File in Same Folder, Won't Open?

Did you get a proper waveform in Audacity when you restarted Audacity and said "yes" to recover the project? If yes, it was a mono recording and the .au files in the _data folder are not corrupted, you may be able to sort the .au files into timestamp order, rename them while time sorted in...

Re: Presonus 22VSL Interface

Make sure you are using latest 1.3.13 Beta (see Help > About Audacity for your current version). Have you turned the Audacity input slider up, or is there a control panel for Presonus where you can do this? Is your choice of Presonus input in Audacity's Device Toolbar just USB Audio Codec? How many ...

Re: File Corruption after plug-in attempt

Are you on Audacity 1.2.6 or 1.3.13? (see Help > About Audacity; you posted in the 1.2 board). What version of Windows exactly? It's best on Windows that you put the LADSPA plug-ins in the "Plug-Ins" folder inside your Audacity installation folder. From memory. the LADSPA Multiband EQ migh...

Re: Audacity 1.3.12 gsnap problems

GSnap may not work all that well in Audacity because Audacity does not support MIDI control. GSnap will work best on a mono track with a single voice. Have you tried reading the GSnap instructions? If you want you can upload a few seconds of audio that you want to treat with GSnap ("Upload atta...

Re: Converting to 8 bit Files

It is in the "Other uncompressed files" settings (assuming you are using Audacity 1.2, click Edit > Preferences: FIle Formats tab). I assume you want 8-bit PCM. To set 8000 Hz sample rate, change the "Project Rate" bottom left of the Audacity window.

Re: Presonus 22VSL Interface

Restart Audacity after connecting Presonus and having it recognised in Windows (both recording and playback). Do you have the latest drivers from http://www.presonus.com/products/Detail.aspx?ProductId=63 ? Audacity will not see MIDI input or ASIO drivers, so if there is a choice in Presonus you have...

Re: Android

For why there is no Audacity for mobile platforms, please read this Frequently Asked Question: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:About_Audacity#mobile You can port Audacity to Android using some other toolkit than Widgets (Qt has fledgling support for Android as I understand it). You can also m...

Re: 1.3.13 causing recurring reboots

Once again, system crashes are almost always driver issues . Could be your video driver if you are having trouble with the web browser. It could be a Windows or Creative update that needs to be rolled back, but first you need to know what to roll back. Please look at the memory dump file. To see whe...

Re: Overdub generates a 'latency error'

You don't say which distribution of Linux you are on. If it uses pulse, select the (hw) devices instead in Device Toolbar to give you direct access to the hardware, bypassing pulse. If pulse has access to those hardware devices you won't be able to use them. In that case you may need to launch Audac...

Re: Adding parameter to Cleanspeech

You can't set export sample rates or bit rates in Chains. If you are happy with the 24kbps MP3 export bit rate (which is set at "Options" at File > Export when "MP3 Files" is selected), just change the project rate bottom left of the Audacity window to 24000 Hz before you run the...
