Re: Error message with exporting
Wow! So I tried it again and took out the spaces and exported it to my desktop and it worked! Was also able to export it as a WAV file. Thank you. Your instructions helped to solve the problem. I have a Mac OS X 10.7.2 and version of audacity I downloaded was Audacity 1.3.13 It could be a permissio...

Re: Windows XP shuts down while recoding vinyl
While it is sensible to check drive space and disk fragmentation it does not usually cause blue screen Windows crashes. Critically low memory might, but still not very likely. Bad drivers are the usual cause. Please read:

Re: audacity alpha freezes
Thanks for the reply, phantasm777. if i decide i want to do like several seperate tracks all on one sitting, i cannot it will say there is not enough memory to save, even though there is. Have you got an image of that error message, and is then when exporting WAV or when saving a project? Look in th...

Re: Wont record other than through "Software Playthrough"
"audacity-win-1.3.12.exe" is the non-Unicode version meant for Windows 98/ME built with an older version of Visual Studio. I don't think it's very likely that this would explain the difference between that and the Unicode 1.3.12 and wonder if the problem is merely intermittent. If anything...

Re: Multiple crashes on new Windows 7 laptop
When is the crash happening - when you launch Audacity (so that you never get to open the project) or at some point in editing the project? If the latter, does something specific trigger the crash like a specific edit, or playing a track? Have you saved this project in 1.3 yet? If so, a 1.2 version ...

Re: Odd behaviours on joining and splitting stereo tracks
If you have R above L with L hard panned to left, the panning is broken now IMO I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "If you have R above L" First track right, second track left. I agree that there is a flaw in how "Make Stereo Track" operates. As I see it, the problem is that ...

Re: Clipping/Distortion/Fuzz at Low Recording Volumes
As DVDDoug asked, what MP3 bit rate are you exporting at? To check. click File > Export and click "Options". Try raising the bit rate or using variable bit rate instead of constant bit rate. Variable bit rate will hopefully allow more bits to be used for the hard-to-encode guitar part and ...

Re: Adding parameter to Cleanspeech
I changed the default to 24000 in the preferences. However, whenever I run the cleanspeech chain it still goes back to 44100 with each new file it opens. Ah, if you are applying the chain to files ("Apply to Files" button) and the .ogg files are not at 24000 Hz, the project rate will chan...

Re: Preferences "creep"
Even in this day and age I can't get more than 800x600 from my netbook when it is running Ubuntu 10.10. In that case, you should appreciate my solution even more because my Preference window can not only be resized up to 90% of full screen but it may also be resized much smaller than the current al...

Re: Cannot access files - error 5
How are you trying to open the project? File > Open? This doesn't really sound like an Audacity problem to me. I think at this stage I would either boot Windows in Safe Mode and then Start > Run and type "cmd" (without quotes) to get a command prompt. Then try and copy the .aup file and _d...
