"Half Selection" is still there and default. It still provides half selection if tracks are above each other. Where is the regression, Bill?

Re: Odd behaviours on joining and splitting stereo tracks

the "channel reversal" problem in the three scenarios I mentioned does come up on [email protected] and I recall on the -users list too, so I think it is worth discussing (even at the price of making the "Make Stereo" rule "harder to explain"). Clearly the people who get foxed...

Re: Incorrect AAC Opening

Thanks for the research, alexius. It could indeed be a libav version issue. Using dynamic libraries (.dll, .dylib or .so) Audacity can't use later than FFmpeg 0.7 at the moment. Later FFmpeg libraries can be used for export using (external program). It could also be a question of which AAC encoder F...

Re: Can't find installed Lame or AAC Lib

Someone ought to make it easier than this. It will be better as soon as we can change the installer location away from /usr/local which is ridden with permissions issues on later OS X. Anyone else who has this issue, please use the zip alternatives and extract the needed dylib file somewhere else. ...

Re: Excluding VST Plugins from Audacity

Could you perhaps just keep the free plug-ins in the Audacity "Plug-ins" folder, and when you are home, move the licensed ones to some other location Audacity also searches for VST's such as: * /Users/<user>/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST * /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST ? Then at home it should ...

Re: Odd behaviours on joining and splitting stereo tracks

As for Make Stereo Track, the rule is simple. The track operated upon becomes the Left channel of the stereo pair and the track below it become the right channel, regardless of any other settings on those tracks. The options in this menu are short-cuts for operating on stereo tracks. If they start ...

Re: audacity alpha freezes

to the best of my knowledge when it will not save, is typically when trying to save the project in aup. file, when exporting as mp3 or wav i do not recall any problems. Thanks. I'd appreciate an image of the message for not being able to save the project next time it happens (ALT + PrtScr will capt...

Re: suggestion - horizontal lines on the audio panel

Sorry about repeating what was asked before. I guess I could not search for the old query effectively. Thanks. :) It's fine to repeat what was requested before - the "repeat" is your own vote to add to those of the other voters. I doubt this will get implemented but there is more chance t...

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)

Regarding 2nd question, the first wave form is logarithmic. I suspect from the votes asking for linear fades in Envelope Tool that the linear (as you say you'll include) will be appreciated and more like what the current fades from the menu do. But I'm still promoting the need for a "text enve...

Re: Problem with Selecting

If you click in a selection it will be replaced by a cursor where you clicked. Have you turned Snap To on?
http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Editing#snap

If you double-click inside a clip ( see Audacity Tracks and Clips ) then any selection will expand to fill the clip.
