Re: Single channel choice crashes! Help!
the Windows Sound Recorder is definately recording mono wave files just fine using this sound card and drivers. No crashes this way, although the files are recorded at a weird baud (22050) but it works fine. So I tried Steve's setup and it crashed as always. I have thought about reinstalling Audaci...

And yes, I know icons view is usually default, not details as in my image, but even with icons, if you mouse over the file, it will show the file type as hover text.

Re: WAV file extension changes to "file", not WAV
So it is nothing to do with hidden file extensions. When you're lost or confused, the worse thing you can do is let Windows hide things from you. Default Windows will show you Music.8.wav and Music.8 as the same file name -- but one them will be mysteriously broken. Koz, by all means you can point ...

When I started to record the 3rd LP the program would not record nor could I hear the audio from the LP. As I try to record i hear chirps and other sound effect...

Re: Scripting Noise Removal
Alexius, just to clarify, no - there are no keyboard shortcuts for effects - it's a common request. Do you want to add a vote for it? I think your piece might be worth mentioning at "Accessing Effects with Shortcuts" on our Wiki page about "Navigating Effects": http://wiki.audaci...

Re: Can't close Audacity
If you installed the program in the first place and you are seeing problems, it's better if possible to run unins000.exe in the Audacity installation folder to uninstall Audacity properly. Audacity wouldn't be running at reboot unless you have it in your Startup folder, but sometimes Windows can get...

Re: Audacity don't see mp3 files [SOLVED]
I mean no files listed in the window. The language was set to "system" (polich) , i change to english and every thing is ok now. It was a translator's error and was fixed in the source code soon after 1.3.13 was released. So it will be fixed in the next 1.3.14 Beta which we hope will be r...

Re: Single channel choice crashes! Help!
Gale may be able to help you with the memory dump. You need to install Windows Debugging tools and WhoCrashed, as explained before at http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=56848&p=143156#p143214 . This link may give you a bit more explanation, though it refers mainly to Vista: ...

Re: No simple save command?
There are certainly situations when it would be nice to just open a WAV file, edit and save, but IMHO enabling such an option would need to be done very carefully. Possibly File > Overwrite would import as well as export (no more overwrites allowed in that project), displaying the file name in the ...
