I think typically a SoundBlaster would offer the left channel if the recording software asked for mono from a stereo stream.
I see you did not download audacity.txt. Can you try, that and look at Audacity's compatibility mode?

Re: Turn off pulseaudio and use only ALSA in Ubuntu 11.04
You can still find if you use the (hw) devices with pulse running that there will be a long hang after you press Play or Record while pulse temporarily suspends itself - this may even lead to a glitch at the start if you are recording something. For general purposes I guess most users would want pul...

Re: Odd behaviours on joining and splitting stereo tracks
The problem is that the users who complain are expecting the channel allocation to be respected (which would still respect left above right but requires the right channel to "jump down"). A mixed track already "jumps down" to the bottom of the screen, so I have no problem at all ...

Re: Odd behaviours on joining and splitting stereo tracks
I think we have 2 votes here (Me, Steve?) for separate envelope points in a stereo pair. As long as it is in addition to working on both channels together, which is what I think most users will want 99% of the time. Definitely an option. I think I must be missing the point ... as I've never noticed...

Re: Turn off pulseaudio and use only ALSA in Ubuntu 11.04
We have set up this recording workstation, which is doing fine recording speeches. Today I've got the first Audacity crash. I was able to recover the project. Looking at .xsession-errors, there were erros with pulse-audio libraries. Any hint on how disable pulseaudio (without installing ESound) and...

Re: Odd behaviours on joining and splitting stereo tracks
At least if you change the gain when the track is rejoined you can undo it to preserve your separate channel gains - confusing as it is to undo a gain change and not see a change on the gain slider. I guess since Peter will delete this in due course there is no point splitting it for the discussion ...

Re: Recording problem
Is this the same problem you asked about in May in this post? http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=56246&p=140788#p140788 You didn't answer the questions we asked there. So once again, What version of Windows? Vista? XP? What version of Audacity - we need all three numbers - se...

Re: Audio skips no matter have been doing
Sounds as if you have tried a lot but how about telling the anti-virus program not to scan in Audacity's temporary directory? See Edit > Preferences: Directories to find where that is. Other things you can try here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Managing_Computer_Resources_and_Drivers . Is it a ...
