Have you got your configure settings?
Does Slackware have separate -dev packages? If so did you install the -dev package of libGTK and libwxGTK?
Any reason you are not using system wxGTK?

@atomicr10: Please check File > Open Metadata Editor in Audacity. Are all the "Value" columns empty?

Re: No sound in itunes
I just tried exporting it as AIF I put it into itunes and then still just made a click then went silent. I think im just going to give up on Audacity. Before you give up, can you try Audacity > Quit Audacity then restart. Make sure the project rate bottom left is 44100 Hz. Generate > Tone, choose t...

Re: Audacity require to be "installed" - cannot start
I'm not sure what the problem is, but the usual server seems to be slow at the moment. Try this one: http://www.windinthew.users.sourceforge.net/audacity-win-unicode-1.3.15-alpha.zip The Windows "Nightly Build" is always a zip, not an installer. You cannot run "audacity.exe" from...

Re: strange recording problem.
"mic line in" is a contradiction in terms. You do want to connect to a stereo line-level input on the computer. When you "delete the file", please tell us exactly what you do. What is the Audacity "Project Rate" bottom left of the screen? Suppose you record first for on...

Re: amr import & export
AMR files should be supported by current versions of Audacity 1.3 provided that you also have FFMpeg installed and Audacity is correctly configured to use FFMpeg. AMR narrow band can be imported and exported on Windows using the FFmpeg installer in the FAQ Steve linked to. AMR narrow band can proba...

Re: No sound in itunes
Look at Audacity > About Audacity. If you don't have 1.3.14 (the "14" is important), please upgrade: http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-macosx-ub-1.3.14.dmg Look at the Audacity Project Rate bottom left of the window. Try setting it to 44100 Hz if it does not already say that. T...

Re: Recover project
What three-section version number of Audacity do you have (see Audacity > About Audacity)?
If you have anything lower than 1.3.14 (for example, 1.3.12) please upgrade:

Re: Turn off pulseaudio and use only ALSA in Ubuntu 11.04
I got a "slowed down monster voice". I had to choose back default or pulse to be able to record again... So this experimet did not work. Thanks for the update. Possibly you need to choose the Audacity project rate and the sample rate for the card more carefully (and both should be the sam...

Re: Input Volume Control
If your Mac has an audio input at all, it should appear as line-in in Audio MIDI Setup - that's a suitable input for RCA outputs (with an adaptor).
