Re: Can't save my projects!
ok... it let me save, but now I can't open the project. If I click directly on the .aup file, it produces an error saying it cannot open the file and launches into version 1.2.3. That is presumably because the file association with .aup files is pointing to 1.2.3. (And again, that is a really, real...

Re: Freezes while editing

Re: Can't save my projects!
There should be plenty of room on that disc How about your system disk? 80GB and 78.3GB used? If foose4string is saving the project for the first time then (s)he could look at Edit > Preferences: Directories and make sure the temporary directory isn't full. If it's all but full then it could create...

Re: Cannot Install FFMPEG
There is still a problem with the old installer that needs to be corrected. Yes, as you saw I have already changed the link in the Manual, but we have to wait for the owner of the lame1 site to respond. I don't know if release 1.3.14 caused my problem with locating the FFmpeg files I believe it was...

Re: Cannot Install FFMPEG
Also I don't understand in your images why the Audacity and FFmpeg folders appear under "Devices". Can Bill or Koz provide some input on that? Where would Ron expect to see Application Support/audacity in his home library in that Finder tree? Gale: What you're seeing is the DMGs for Audac...

Re: How to not scan plug-ins
No, Audacity doesn't look recursively into directories inside its "Plug-ins" folder. That's what I thought, but that does not appear to be strictly true. Tested with Audacity 1.3.14 beta on Windows XP (virtual machine guest) if I move the following files: gverb_1216.dll hard_limiter_1413....

Re: Can't save my projects!
You can't save as .aud (the extension is .aup), but that isn't the problem. What three-section version number of Audacity are you using (see Help > About Audacity)? If you do not have the current 1.3.14, please upgrade to it after resolving the current problem: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_...

Re: Orphaned Blockfiles
@Brash Blusher: It would not be unreasonable to add a warning against moving or renaming the .aup file or _data folder into the "warning" that appears when saving a project. This might be done after the next major 2.0 version, after which we do not need to worry so much about breaking tran...

Re: Cannot Install FFMPEG
Ron, Thanks for the log and your persistence. :) I don't think we're too sure what is going on at the moment. The owner of the lame1 site isn't replying right now, but Leland will take a look at this later today. However he confirms the path /~/Library/Application Support/audacity" is invalid. ...

Re: Cannot Install FFMPEG
Ron, Thanks for the images. Let's sort out audacity.cfg first. If you have never quit 1.3.14 or some earlier 1.3 version on that machine, audacity.cfg won't exist. But let's have a .cfg that's fresh from the factory. Download the attached "audacity.txt" and rename it to audacity.cfg. Quit ...
