Re: Pitch shift problems

Change Pitch does not detect pitch other than the first identifiable pitch it finds in the selection. It does not detect the tonality or "key" of a piece. It does not change an arbitrary note to the pitch indicated in "Pitch: To:". It changes pitch of the whole selection by the p...

Re: Program GUI won't launch

Did you uninstall 1.2.6? What directory did you install 1.3.14 into? You have to be sure no Audacity processes are running by killing the process tree as described. Please try killing the Audacity process tree again, then double-click Audacity.exe from inside the folder you installed 1.3.14 into. Gale

Re: Audacity 1.3.14 in Wine on Debian Squeeze

Thanks, Steve. That PlayOnLinux home page seems pretty misleading to me. Maybe this is more accurate:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayOnLinux

in other words, PlayOnLinux isn't just "based on" Wine, but depends on it?

Still, it sounds a good idea.

Re: audacity on 32 bit Vista

Sometimes one build will work on one machine but not others. Please try one of these: * Lame 3.99.3 from http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/lame_v3.99.3_for_windows.exe * Lame 3.98.4 from http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=2998 . By the way you posted in the 1.2 Windows board. Please use ...

Re: 1.3.14 hardware requirement

The Audacity requirements for Windows Vista / 7 are higher than for XP because the Microsoft system requirements for Vista / 7 are higher. XP is fine on current 1.3.14 Beta. Windows 7 will not necessarily be faster than XP unless you have something like the "Audacity recommended" specifica...

If you have a recording problem, please try reading this: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Troubleshooting_Recordings#silence If that does not help, please give us enough information to go on. What version of Windows exactly (for example XP, Vista) What is the full three-section version number of A...

Re: Recording levels unadjustable using Ion USB turntable

USB device input levels cannot be adjusted on Mac - it is an Apple "design" decision, like no direct recording of computer playback and no playthrough of the input. Check there is no volume knob underneath the turntable. If the Ion has RCA cables for connecting to speakers or to a HiFi, bu...

Re: Joining files with batch processing

Hello guys! Could you help me please? I am looking for a software that is capable of “merging” two mp3 files into a single one with little need of human interaction. I mean, one file is the voice of the broadcaster, and the other one is the “background song”. I would like to merge several "cou...

Re: A couple of issues with the 1.3.15 ASIO build

You don't seem to be saying exactly the same as before. You said above: They only sound like that after I reopen the files. Not during recording That part, with that sort of audio quality degradation not in the recording but occurring after editing or project save, is hard to understand. It would be...

Re: Help: Can't Open Audacity Project

Please look at Help > About Audacity and give the full-three section version number of Audacity (for example, 1.3.12). There is a problem in line 3 of the .aup file. The .aup can be edited but it would be safest if you made a copy of the .aup file and attached it so we can look at it. To do that, cl...
