Re: Unanticipated Host Error.
I moved this to the Windows 1.3.x board which is more appropriate than "General Feedback and Discussion". Does Audacity crash, or just not play the file? Can you give the make and model number of the USB Sound Card? And do you get this issue with the built-in sound device? AUDIODG.EXE is a...

Re: random static while recording
I've been through most of the obvious stuff already with Erich when he wrote to [email protected]. You could look in Device Manager in the Windows Control Panel to see if there are any yellow exclamation marks for USB Controllers. Is this XP Media Center Edition? A lot of hardware is not compatible with tha...

Re: Audacity controls main input volume in control panel
Hi, Thanks for the links. The second one http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=12911&hilit=maxes+out&start=10 is in fact the issue I was talking about - not being able to record at more than 0.5 when recording mono from multiple channels - see Kizzume's follow-on at http://f...

Re: Metadata Edtor
On the Mac platform you can press the space bar while a file is selected and it will play it in a preview window. In this window it shows the song name, name of the album, name of the artist and the time. Thanks for your reply, though I would still like to be clearer if we are to look into it. By &...

iMac 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo :D Mac OS 10.6.8 :D 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM :D Audacity ® 1.3.7 (Unicode) I noticed that when using special characters in the Metadata Editor (i.e., Ö, •, …, “, ‘, ”, ’, etc.) you don't get the information about the song when you preview it (pressing the space bar when the...

Re: Audacity Files Backup
You can replace the Windows files without losing your data, programs or settings if you "repair" the XP installation instead of installing a fresh copy of XP. See: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/operatingsystems/ss/instxprepair1.htm You "should" back up your data anyway, but it is...

Re: A couple of issues with the 1.3.15 ASIO build
I completed your steps with MME and no errors or crashes occurred at any time. Was this with the Nightly or your build? Did the problem stop after deleting the audacity.cfg but before you used the Nightly? Although I still assume the quality corruption was present in the recordings from the outset ...

Re: Audacity controls main input volume in control panel
@Nikhil, Can you give links to the "other unresolved posts about this issue"? There is a known problem that some USB interfaces will never produce more than a half volume track in Audacity if choosing mono recording in Audacity and connecting to only one input of a stereo or multi-channel ...

Re: Help: Can't Open Audacity Project
I'm using Audacity 1.3.12. Here's the file. The attached should "fix" it so that you will open an empty project window with a small selection region just before 4 minutes on the Timeline. There will be no tracks because there are none in the .aup file. Is that what you expect the project ...
