Re: error message

Gale Double Posting? What "TWO" posts are you referring to? I only made the one post. You posted the content of http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=316818#p316818 as a new topic which is essentially a repeat of your original question in this topic http://forum.audacityteam.org/v...

Re: Recording Failure

I am using Audacity 2.0.3 on Windows 10. I am recording a compact cassette to a Sony laptop. The program starts recording then after a few minutes (varies 2-10) the tape continues playing but the recording stops. Can you help? Are you using 2.0.3 because the current 2.1.2 release cannot find any au...

Re: Recommended settings for exporting MP3 ?

The correct settings are what sound good to you for the content you have. It is a tradeoff between file size and quality, so experiment. Get the quality of the music right, which will probably be the hardest part to encode. Choose Constant Bit Rate for maximum compatibility, especially if the files ...

Re: Low-pass-filtered sound when recording stereomix

No, just computer playback. Have you tried WASAPI loopback as previously suggested, rather than stereo mix? In Audacity, open Device Toolbar . In the first (Host) box of Device Toolbar, choose "Windows WASAPI". In the second (Recording Device) box, choose the (loopback) input for the devi...

Re: Low-pass-filtered sound when recording stereomix

Thank you for your answer. I turned off every sound manipulation option in the soundcard panel but the problem still remains. Maybe there is another sound system panel somewhere else that is influencing the sound. The weird thing is that the sound coming out of my laptop speakers is fine... The pro...

Re: Removing a single cursor "<" from the timeline

I've attached a screen shot with the arrow noted in the red circle. It is the playback start position cursor , which is attached to the editing cursor. Playback and recording starts from there. It is not the cause of reverb when you are recording. Tell us exactly what you are recording, using exact...

Re: Spacebar to start play sometimes doesn't work

I just uninstalled an older version and installed 2.1.2 and I have the same problem. The spacebar now requires two taps to start playing after I use the mouse to place the edit point. It used to require one. To make matters worse, it doesn't do it in every case, so sometimes if I tap twice, it star...
