Re: I-Tunes will not open
If rebooting makes a difference thus suggests you may be below the Audacity system requirements: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows#sysreq Make sure you are launching iTunes with its installed executable, not by double-clicking files that may have been associated previously with iTunes. G...

Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements
I just wanted to start a topic to keep ideas alive for these two. Sound Finder could do with a new control "Ignore sounds shorter than [seconds]" . This would consider sounds that are shorter than the minimum duration to be part of the "silence". The use case is that it would ena...

Re: Import audio crash
Then starting at byte 4320: Well, byte 4318 (the "I" of "ID3"). I deleted that entire block of partially duplicated tags (bytes 4318 - 4477) then the file imported fine even when libsndfile (the PCM importer) tried it first, as it does when "All files" is selected. Del...

Re: Binaural Tones with Surf 2
There's a couple of things where feedback from users would be useful: 1) Work flow: Which option fits best with a "typical" work flow? Option a) All of the initial settings followed by all of the final settings. Option b) Alternate initial and final settings. Option a) Duration Initial To...

Re: using my webcam as a microphone
I'd like to use my webcam to record my voice. I know that the webcam works, but I can't see how to use audacity to record the sound going into it. Any suggestions are appreciated. If it's a USB webcam and it appears in the Windows control panel for sounds, launch Audacity (or restart it if it's alr...

Re: Large MP3 Files (2 GB)
The expansion in the temp folder is because Audacity decompresses the MP3 files. Unless the files are 11025 Hz or lower (look above the Mute / Solo buttons on the track), you won't be able to save Audacity projects without breaking the track up into smaller projects. The storage limit is 13.5 hours ...

Re: Please supply link to download PDF Manual for V1.3.4-bet
have the basic instructions changed that much between the older version and the beta version? Yes. If the pdf manual for beta version is not ready for download yet, can one at least download the earlier version and use that for most of the instructions. There are many good reasons not to use 1.3.4 ...

Re: (Beginner's) playback problem; no sound.
If you are happy leaving the device plugged in most of the time, be sure to right-click over the speaker icon > Playback devices (NOT Open Volume Mixer) to open "Sound". Look at Speakers for Realtek. If it says "Default Device" you are OK. If not, right-click over Speakers for Re...
