Where are you clicking on "My Computer" - in "Save Project As..." in Audacity?
Are the flash drive or other drives accessible? What happens if you try to access My Computer in Windows Explorer?

Re: Can't drag & drop MP3 from Explorer into Audacity window
How about if you import, record or generate some audio into Audacity, zoom in then select from zero to 0.02 seconds. File > Export Selection as WAV. Open Notepad and drag the WAV in. Does the WAV import? Can text files be dragged into Notepad? I can drag & drop any file into its corresponding a...

Re: Why does it seem to take forever for Audacity to open?
@kbone. There is no "scan and cache" for Audio Units as there is for VST's - the Audio Units are loaded at each launch and unloaded at quit - hence the time taken to exit. The issue of AU (and VST) plug-ins at Audacity launch is already mentioned in the 1.3.14 Release Notes (at least in re...

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements
The problem is, what should happen if there are a series of short noises (shorter than the "minimum") with short spaces between (shorter than the "allowed")? The "minimum sound" setting will ignore the sounds so that the silences will add up to be longer than the minim...

Re: Export problems
I was using high sample rates and bit-depths, but the finished files were only about 50MB. You mean MP3 here? A WAV or AIFF 55 minutes long would be at least 550 MB if you were using the 16-bit choice. Are there any error messages when exporting the WAV or AIFF files? What happens (on Windows) if y...

Re: Crash on Record
I just had the same problem with my Fujitsu t4220 lifebook tablet, Windows XP. It also comes with dual built-in microphones which worked well in Windows sound recorder but crashed when I set the Realtek Digital Microphone as the input [not so with Realtek HD Audio Input, which is my plug in mic]. W...

Re: Can't drag & drop MP3 from Explorer into Audacity window
I don't know who was the provider. I use the SlimDrivers program to find, download and install all my drivers. Unfortunately, it's anonymous; it doesn't tell you where it's getting them from. It's fast and doesn't need user intervention other than to say Yes or No as to whether to install them or n...

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements
Also, not sure how "Ignore sounds shorter than [seconds]" would interact with "Minimum duration of silence between sounds [seconds]". For example, if the "Minimum duration of silence..." = 2 seconds and ""Ignore sounds shorter than.." = 0.5 seconds, what...

Re: Large MP3 Files (2 GB)
OK, I clarified that on http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Lame_ ... tion#lossy .waxcylinder wrote: Audacity doesn't actually "decompress" the files in that the compression damage that was incurred when the original MP3 was compressed will still be there in the Audacity project.
Thanks,
