Re: Append two tracks in one project
There are several ways. You can simply press F5 to activate Time Shift Tool, then zoom out till you see both tracks, then click and drag the track rightwards with your mouse. When you see the yellow vertical line, the start of the track you're dragging will be aligned with the end of the other track...

Re: Cannot export to My Music
Everytime I find it in a file, What does that mean? That sounds like trying to open an Audacity project that is already open in another window. What 1.3 version of Audacity are you using (see Help > About Audacity). Is it 1.3.14, 1.3.13, or what number after the "1.3."? What format are yo...

Re: Please help, projects won't open.
The original opens without any prompt (but is still incomplete with periods of silence) Shouldn't do, unless you chose to make the silence permanent in the missing files dialogue. I have the backup file of "Episode1 - Copy.aup.bak" but it won't seem to let me open that. Is there any way t...

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements
I have not heard from the user who requested "ignore sounds shorter than" for animal vocalisations. I am not sure you would set "allow silences in sounds shorter than" in that case - you possibly just want the vocalisations. There has to be some "ignore silence", but i...
Re: Plug-ins
You posted to the 1.2 Board. Please use the latest 1.3.14 Beta for Windows 7: http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-win-unicode-1.3.14.exe then see: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/VST_Plug-ins#beta . 1.3.14 has better support for VST plug-ins, but it does not support VST instruments. If y...

Re: Please help, projects won't open.
For safety, always export a WAV file (one for each track if you have multiple tracks one above the other) before closing a project. Please tell us exactly what three-section version of Audacity you are using by clicking Help > About Audacity. It will say 1.3.12 or 1.3.13 or similar. What is the thi...

Re: Command Line export seems to be only 16 bits??
Audacity doesn't seem to encode the audio in 32 bit wav Try selecting "Other uncompressed files" when you export, click "Options" then choose "Signed 32 bit PCM" with WAV encoding (or what you want). so I decided to use an external program with the following command: C...

Re: Import audio crash when using RAM
Hey yall, I didn't read this all too carefully but i was having the same problems and though I'd let you know what i did. Essentially there is a setting in Audacity that cured this for me. Edit --> Preferences --> Directories --> Temporary Files Directory = my secondary internal RAID drive. I didn'...

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements
crackle.png is similar (but more extreme) to what may occur with an old vinyl transfer. In this case it would be useful if the short sounds (snap, crackle and pop) were treated as silence, then the sounds (0.0 to 1.0 and 3.0 to 4.2) would be labelled and the "crackly silence" from 1.0 to ...
