Re: Is there a better way to correct recorded timing?
I'm dreaming of a plugin that would show the timing as a straight line that could be dragged up at points (like in the Envelope tool or an equalizer) to increase speed, and dragged down to lower tempo, all without affecting pitch. Finished editing would make the line look like a sinoid pattern. Suc...

Re: transfer drum m/c tracks to flashdrive via audacity 2.1.
could you please advise on the memory size i should buy........i have 40 songs with average 3 mins/track;approx. 120 mins total If you are exporting the Audacity recording as WAV 16-bit (which is lossless and recommended), two hours in stereo is 1.2 GB and two hours mono is 600 MB. If it's a lossy ...

Re: UI: Position indicator
If the cursor is above or below all the tracks that you want to add the cursor to, holding SHIFT while using DOWN or UP arrow as appropriate is all that is needed.

Re: Unable to record from Youtube
I'd read that somewhere and tried, but that still was coming up blank. If you are referring to WASAPI loopback there, you have to start playing the song before pressing Record in Audacity. And you have to set up Audacity correctly: In the first (Host) box of Device Toolbar, choose "Windows WAS...

Re: UI: Select (all of) the current track without the mouse
At the moment i'm using CTRL-A to select all, then arrow up/down and enter to deselect the other tracks I don't want. How can I just select all of the current track without using the mouse? ENTER toggles the track selectedness on and off for the track that has the yellow focus border. So it depends...

Re: UI: Select (all of) the current track without the mouse
For the upcoming 2.1.3 we have changed this behaviour to act more like that which you will be used to in Wndows Explorer where 1) Ctrl+Click in the TCP will add that track to the selected tracks 2) Shift+Click in the TCP will select the range beween that track and te current selected track(s) 2) is...

Re: Unable to record from Youtube
Stereo Mix can only record from the built-in sound device, not the USB headset. To record from the USB headset, use Windows WASAPI loopback. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html#wasapi . As always, we assume you have copyright holders' permissio...

Re: Amplification in the last release of Audacity
I attempted a reply with a more detailed suggestion to save time ( Esp on long recordings I make), but the Audacity Forum as erased it . . . demanding I login again . . . . yet it doesn't suggest Saving when this is about to happen.... so I'm really annoyed this thoughtful work is lost . . . never ...

Re: Real-time EQ preview (+ non-destructive EQ adjustment)
Perhaps after preview you select Control+Preview and it's stored ( a small window appearing with "Preview 1" ) ... this would be added with each preview - so it's up to us to first change the sliders!..... then when reviewing these Saved Previews, I'd suggest an ADDED feature - listen to ...

Re: windows 7 version 2.x
when I was working with the tambourine track, I did at one time go to the option that says split stereo to mono. But then I would go to where it says mono left channel - and I would use that for one tambourine track then I would go to mono right channel for the other tambourine track. I thought tha...
