Re: Playing a track with the arrow keys
They specifically said it wasn't a play function. Only Carlos explicitly said "The feature we are describing is not during playback". Though it is during playback, if moving the arrow keys actually initiates playback. Are you sure you don't mean that you are pausing the track, then moving...

Re: Help not functioning
I wouldn't really expect the "special build" to make a difference in a modern browser as almost any such will have error correction for syntax of local file paths. I would suspect like Steve that "security" is getting in the way. What folder did you extract the "manual_links...

Re: Compress it all or one by one.
I had around 70 tracks + I'd say. When I will start to get crashes on the new project il check the count. Thanks for the autosave file. It looks fine structurally, assuming the empty tracks you had halfway down the project were intended. @Peter. The Benchmark test is only a very rough and ready ind...

Re: Editing large files?
I need to splice and dice some extremely large audio files. As MP3s, they take up about 250MB to 500MB. In WAV format, they would range from about 1.5GB to 3GB. The problem is, when I attempt to load one in Audacity, the overhead appears to be at lease 5X the decompressed datasize, and so it overwh...

Re: Cannot record LP's
You have described exactly the same problem I have been struggling with all day. I have now uploaded the latest audacity version and still it won't record other than a flat line. I am not technically minded and was amazed my first recording with what I now realise is a very outdated version of auda...

Re: Audacity doesn't recognize lame_enc.dll?
Please try this: * http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/software/Lame_v3.99.3_for_Windows.exe If that does not work, let us know and try this instead: * lame_enc.dll 3.98.4 from http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=2998 Note that you have to click the "Locate" button in "Locate...

Re: AIFF Quality Loss When Exporting .au Files
@Ray, you also posted this as a "bug" to [email protected] (without the detail that you posted here) and offered to send files that reproduced it. Since you now started a Forum topic too, I suggest you use 1.3.14 to conduct your tests and then post links to your samples here with complete steps fr...

Re: Help not functioning
Audacity is trying to open <audacity installation directory>helpmanualindex.html . What version of Chrome do you have (spanner icon > About Google Chrome)? You could try this zip: http://www.gaclrecords.org.uk/software/audacity-win-unicode-1.3.15-alpha_manual_links.zip which has "//" added...

Re: Audacity _ data folders
It looked like there were only 25 projects from your image. "Details" should give the date. Try right-clicking for available columns. Or do you mean the date column is empty? Can you rescan the drive with Recuva? It will save you hours if it gives the original folder name and date, but it ...

Re: Playing a track with the arrow keys
Hi. I have just loaded v 1.2.6. I had Audacity on a previous laptop and I am pretty sure that there was a method by which if I was using the arrow keys to move the cursor, I could also hear what was playing underneath the cursor. In this way I could move slowly backwards and forwards to get to an e...
