Re: New to Nyquist: Help Starting up using plug-ins
If you are on OS X 10.4 or higher you should be using 1.3.14 Beta: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac#recdown . From your description, you either did not drag the "nyquist" folder into the folder you are running Audacity from, or you renamed that folder, or possibly you are running ...

Re: Can't EXPORT to FFmpeg, even though FFmepg is installed?
Glad you got it going. When I first installed Audacity from the .dmg, it DID ask me for a user sign in before proceeding Does it do that when dragging the Audacity contents to Applications? I know it asks for the LAME/FFmpeg installer. I guess there are other more specialized Mac permissions I don't...

Re: Question on High Pass Filter
Strictly speaking, the cutoff frequency defines a corner frequency at a lower amplitude than the unmodified audio, so there is also a decreasing amount of attenuation at frequencies just above the cutoff. This makes a smoother transition at the cutoff frequency. I think that tends to imply that the...

Re: Can't EXPORT to FFmpeg, even though FFmepg is installed?
The versions of both Audacity beta & FFmpeg would be the latest available because I just downloaded them today, for an iMac running OSX 10.5 and the latest version of iTunes. I have not tried any other Import or export platforms. I imported 3 mp3s that are in my iTunes library, opened them in A...

Re: recover .aup from _data files
I came upon the same problem as John and I took the same action. The track opens but it just show the recorded audio from 24:55 to 25:04. Any way I could open the project to show the whole recorded track? So did you rearrange files and folders? What errors exactly does the project open with? What v...

"Device (IDT)" doesn't look like a viable device for either recording or playback. Right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock > Playback devices. Right-click > and click "Show Disconnected Devices" and again for "Show Disabled Devices". Then right-click over ...

Re: Audacity _ data folders
I have the bo --- files with dates. How do I recognise which are linked You can't, except by the similar date and time. Try sorting the whole list by date in Explorer. Start with a b00000.au, then find a b00001.au that is the same date and time (for stereo projects) or 6 seconds later (for mono pro...
