Re: Unable to Export
For some reason Aucacity decides not to let me export certain files. When I try export or export selection I get a pop up that says "error while writing WAV (microsoft)file (disc full?). Libsndfile says." Any idea what to do about this? "Libsndfile says..." denotes that It's a k...

Re: Recording from Speaker Output
Jim, this is actually nothing to do with Audacity. I think we've tried to help you a lot. I suggested that by downloading from the site instead of recording (search Google to find programs that download from music sites), you could just click a button (or two) and the file would be saved with the na...

Re: Can't Open/Import WMA files
Look in the "Rip Music" tab on Windows Media Player Tools > Options. If you copy protected the files, then only Windows Media Player will play them. In that case, burn the WMA file to a CD using Windows Media Player then rip the CD track back to WAV or unprotected WMA (not any of the Pro o...

Re: Recording from Speaker Output
What I want to do is this: Find a site and download songs and have the recorder fill in the title and artist without any input from me. I don't think you will get it for free or to your satisfaction. You're asking the recorder to capture the metadata, or if there isn't any, guess from the name of t...

Re: Hello, recording problem.
Are you on Windows Vista or 7? Have you read this:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ: ... hancements ?
The red circled piece is more like the waveform you should be getting all the time. Have you tried turning down the input volume of the internal mic?

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements
I'm not sure "join labels" is quite right either, as that implies the long label will still contain individual labels. I'm not dabbling with this code, merely following this discussion. Would "Merge labels" be suitable? I'm not sure we want to add anything about "merging&qu...

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements
label the first sound from 0.0 to 2.0 and the second sound from 2.2 to 4.2. I want to allow the clearly visible "silences" from 1.0 to 2.0 and 2.2 to 3.2 in my labelled sound (because those silences are less than my setting of 2.0). I want to ignore the sound from 2.0 to 2.2 because it is...

Re: Recording from Speaker Output
Jim, what exactly do you want to do? You don't need to spend money on a program that adds tags. You don't need to spend money on a program that tries to find tags based on artist or album name. You can do that for free with MP3Tag and other programs. You will need to spend money on a program that re...

Re: Write text file (cross-platform compatible)
Tried the new writefile.ny on Windows 7 (both 2.0.0 alpha Unicode and ANSI). I can only write to root of one of my internal drives (D: which is a small partition housing my Win XP installation). All the other drives give "not found" when writing to root (output is written to home directory...

Re: iTunes ...accessings tags.tml
Audacity does not export direct to iTunes - export to your Desktop and drag the file into the iTunes Music window. See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Exporting_your_Audacity_Project_into_iTunes_and_iPod . If you mean the "tags.xml" file in Audacity, pressing "Save" in Metadat...
