Re: Error while opening sound device
I've swapped 1.3.13 for 1.3.14, played audio and checked the green bars next to Stereo Mix, nothing happens. It's still not picking up sound. However, Audacity will now record when Stereo Mix is selected as the recording device, but that too isn't picking up the sound. I thought I might have accide...

Re: add build date to log
post 2.0.0 in audacity.h ~ line 41, make beta & "stable" lines end with __TDATE__ like "alpha" does (which adds the BUILD date--and thus some commit version info); also change the trailing - (dash) to a space--it looks better IMVHO: Can you say why? There is a policy not to ...

Re: reproducible crash exporting large mp3s
It seems to be quite common that Lion versions after the first cause MALLOC crashes on some machines in various applications - see for example http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=62086 when opening .aup and MP3 files caused crashes on 10.7.2. Yes, metadata in the MP3 is a possible...

Re: 2nd track is distorted/squelching when recording..
Thank you for your help. I changed the in/out to the same source as it said, an that fixed the problem. There was a slight bit of latency though, so I tweaked the buffer amount. This caused the squelching to return, so I decided to revert the buffer amount and live with the latency. The squelching ...

Re: 2nd track is distorted/squelching when recording..
Have you read this: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Troubleshooting_Recordings#drift ? Those are exactly the steps you have to try. If absolutely none of that helps (including updating sound device drivers) tell us what version of Windows, what version of Audacity (all three numbers at Help > Abou...

Re: Error while opening sound device
Let's make sure you have the latest 1.3.14 Beta, Check for the "14" at Help > About Audacity. If you don't have 1.3.14, get it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows . Then play some audio and look at "Stereo Mix" on the "Recording" tab of Sound in Windows ...

Re: Lost file - help!
You shouldn't go renaming .aup files or _data folders. if you are going to do that you have to change "projname" in the .aup file as well. To make copies of the .aup file and _data folder, select them, copy, open a new folder then paste the copied .aup and _data folder into the new folder ...

Re: I have a file with 23 audio track but I can only listen
This is very confused, sometimes you say the file is WAV, other times WMV (which is a video file). Audacity should be able to import up to 32 channels in WAV file (the channels are in separate tracks above each other in Audacity), which seems to be what you are describing. If it is a WMA Pro file (W...
