Re: Audacity has quit unexpectedly.

Disabling "Display Audio Unit effects in Graphical Mode" did not stop the dialog box from happening when closing the program. I disabled AudioUnits in Preferences/Effects and closed the program. The dialog box did not come up so there is certainly a conflict there. I will upgrade to AutoT...

Re: Audacity has quit unexpectedly.

Paul, Further to Bill's post, was your previous Audacity version 1.2 something? That would not have the problem because it would not recognise AudioUnit plug-ins. There are several other things you can try if Bill's suggestion doesn't help. AutoTune probably won't be fully functional in Audacity, an...

Re: (soft) file associations lost

Certainly adding Audacity to "Open with" for an audio file type works fine on a computer that has never had Audacity installed. The installer should though ideally be able to set registry keys so that Audacity once installed is seen as a "Recommended Program" for particular file ...

Re: VST plugin problem!

You used to need "VST Bridge" software to get Audacity to recognize VST plugins. Maybe that's still true. http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#vst_install Please read the FAQ you cited :) There is no need to add the VST Enabler which was requir...

Re: Recovering audio apparently 'lost' via full disk

As far as I know Explorer cannot rename a list of files in alphanumeric order, hence the instructions to do so with xplorer2 on the Wiki Crash Recovery page. Assuming disk space is the problem (I think it is if this was a stereo 32-bit recording - your 2.4 GB gives you only two hours of recording) -...

Re: Recovering audio apparently 'lost' via full disk

Further to Steve's reply made while I was typing, the garbage characters in "Audio Position" do not look hopeful, and you seem to be saying you imported from the first folder that had .au files. From what I recall from testing Audacity Beta some time ago, if Audacity runs out of space whil...

Re: audacity inputs and windows 7

In XP I was able to choose that it records with 4 channels. My focusrite / windwos 7 settings on audio configurations shows only 2 inputs, so can't select that it uses all 4... It's strange, because drivers are the same... There is a chance that the drivers for a USB device could be the same for Wi...

Re: Add further samplig rates to drop-down box

If you go to the Quality Preferences you can select "Default Sample Rate" which will then always be used for new projects.

Re: No stereo recording option

Hi Gale and Bill, Thanks for the reply. I've updated to 1.3.14 but still appear to have only a "Mono" option. My Mac OS X computer is 10.6.8. I'm recording with an MXL VO-1A mic and CEntrance MicPort Pro, which have been selected as my Preferences. Margo Hi Margo, If you look at the CEntr...
