I did not know this was a problem, Edgar. Can you explain a little more?

Re: missing translation links in the Audacity manual

@Edgar: I am still unconvinced that someone who does not understand audio processing could never translate the Manual. Wouldn't i18n hints help? Wouldn't cross-checking Wikipedia translations of audio-related articles help? If you (Edgar) never translated any more on the Manual, except for fixing th...

Re: missing translation links in the Audacity manual

Most users expect that they just can type text and are not aware that they need to learn to handle Wikitext markup. Would this help? I guess matters are not helped by the loss on both our Wikis of the standard Edit Toolbar (personally I never used it anyway). The toolbar was originally disabled bec...

Re: Dealing with Disappearing Clip

The "Trim" button would have done exactly what you say happened.

Have you quit Audacity since this happened? If not there may be some information at Help > Show Log... .

Is the project itself where this happened still open, if so, do look at View > History... .

Re: Where has the vocal eq preset gone?

If you are on Windows Vista or 7, do you use System Restore? If so try right-clicking over the current EQCurves.xml in Explorer > Restore previous versions.

See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... verb_Light . Have you considered experimenting with the Anwida presets?

Re: Tempo control ...

The Audacity Play-at-Speed slider changes the pitch as well as the tempo. Stop playback or recording and modify the audio using Effect > Change Tempo or Effect > Sliding Time Scale. This may distort the audio a little (especially Change Tempo) but will not change the pitch.

Re: Equalizer - Extending the Length and Exporting Coefficie

You'd have to set a filter length > 8181 in audacity.cfg then modify effects/Equalization.cpp to prevent that filter length being reset to default.

There is no further EQ data you can export from Audacity without tinkering with the code.

Re: Availability of Audacity 2 deb package for Ubuntu

There will be an Audacity 2.0.0 package for Ubuntu 12.04 which will be released on 26 April. 12.04 is still in beta at the moment, but at your own risk you can upgrade to it. If you currently have Ubuntu 11.x, compiling Audacity should be as simple as typing a few commands in the terminal . Alternat...

Also: 1. Please click Edit > Preferences: Directories and tell us what it says for the location of the Audacity temporary directory. If the window you are importing into has never been saved as an Audacity project and the path to the temporary directory starts with "" (with nothing else be...
